Convent Gallery

A feast for the senses, the gallery is more than a three level haven of fine art in an historic 19th century mansion. With its decadent retail areas, Mediterranean restaurant, relaxing Altar bar and lounge, restored chapel, nuns museum, penthouse apartment...

I always wanted to visit The Convent Gallery and it did not disappoint. Sectioned off into the nuns museum, art gallery, huge gift shop and very popular cafe, The Gallery overlooks beautiful gardens and spectacular views over Daylesford. It costs $5 admission for adults but is well worth it. So much history and art work. Visit and enjoy.

Stony Creek Gallery

Stony Creek Gallery is an amazingly warm and welcoming space, nestled amongst the picturesque bushland of Victoria's famed spa country. The gallery walls are lined with original paintings by resident artist Michael Parker. With works derived from natural elements, and inspiration drawn from the Australian landscape, Michael's resin paintings are truly spectacular. The gallery also contains an extraordinary range of ceramics, blown glass, timber works, jewellery and sculptures by local Australian artists. Even the floor itself is an artwork; a handwritten, original and inspiring story painstakingly painted by Michael Parker. The gallery is also home to a beautiful sculpture garden with a stunning collection of contemporary sculptures and artworks. Entry to the gallery is free and on arrival you will be provided with a complimentary glass of bubbles to help soak in the unique beauty of your surroundings. Relax and unwind, take a sip and enjoy every moment.

This gallery is lively and eclectic with a fun and interesting mix of local artists' works - from sculptures, jewellery, canvases, resin work and glassware. The ambience is further enhanced by the friendly staff who offer a wealth of knowledge as well as a cheeky glass of bubbles!

Clayfire Gallery Daylesford

Reviewed By peterf258

We were taken to Daylesford for lunch as part of a sightseeing trip. What a beautiful little country town. The number of vehicles and people moving around is testament to its popularity as a tourist must see. Situated about 100km from Melbourne in very scenic undulating countryside the village is one of the first big gold discovery centres in the mid to late 1800's. It also boasts Hepburn Springs, and the area is said to have 80% of Australia's mineral water springs. In this town is an amazing business called Clayfire, selling beautiful and often unusual furniture pieces, sculptures and a wide range of other articles. The choice is both attractive and varied from small pieces to large sculptures and artwork of beautiful quality and shapes. It is easy to spend a lot of time in this shop!! But for the fact that we were travelling back to New Zealand, it would have been very tempting not to purchase an article for our home. A must see!
