Chittagong (/tʃɪtəɡɒŋ/), officially known as Chattogram (Bengali: চট্টগ্রাম [tʃɔʈːogram]; Chittagonian: চাঁটগা) is a major coastal seaport city and financial centre in southeastern Bangladesh. The city has a population of more than 2.5 million while the metropolitan area has a population of 4,009,423 at the 2011 Census, making it the second largest city in the country.
