West Orange Trail

We parked at Kilarney Station, rented a bike, and cycled this paved trail through lovely residential areas, scenic Winter Garden, and on to the Luca Trail that brings you to Newton Park at Lake Apopka where you can walk the pier and, if lucky, watch the crafty alligator stalk birds. There are washrooms there, and lovely restaurants of all kinds in Winter Garden. Visit the Train Museum.

As a travel nurse I always like to get to my area and seek out some off the beaten track trail runs . I Usually look at trail running and the equivalent like going to church. Well I have to say this church is highly recommended there are a few different loops and a few different trail heads. I chose this one from a review on here, he stated “it drops you right into the action” and i’m not sure because I haven’t approached it any other way but it really was perfectl brings you right to the loops.

My wife and I rode from Santos trailhead to the I 75 land bridge and back on the paved path. Very enjoyable ride for a couple of senior citizens. Route had varied scenery, was shady and lightly used during the week in January. Trailhead had parking spaces, picnic tables and flush toilets all in good condition. We have already made camping reservations this spring to return to ride the easiest of the single track paths.

Which park has always been a nice place to bring the kids to play in the Park area or play any kind of sports in the park. You can also take your children on bikes in the trail or walk your dog and it's safe from Cars. I wouldn't suggest somebody walking alone as many years ago and many people get mugged and killed between Dean and Econ trail. So don't walk it alone especially women. At Blanchette Park there's water in bathrooms to use. People have barbecues and parties they're also and it's nice. There are also tables and grills at the park. Please people just clean your mess up when you leave to keep it clean. Blanchard Park is easy accessible from Dean Road or Rouse Road. Have a great time.

I rode all the way from Green Mountain Trailhead to the pump house was about 27 miles round trip. Saw a lot of gators and birds. Only drawback no shade. Will do this ride again in the cooler months.
