Things to do in Canary Islands, Canary Islands: The Best Monuments & Statues

March 30, 2022 Esmeralda Fenner

The sun-drenched Canary Islands lie close to North Africa and have an exotic flavor of their own. Hundreds of volcanoes, rolling sand dunes, rich forests and rugged cliffs dapple these seven Atlantic gems. Catch a ferry to Lanzarote. Ride a camel through volcanic Timanfaya National Park. Take on Tenerife, home of Mount Teide, Spain's tallest peak. Romp Grand Canary's beaches or hike La Gomera's Garajonay National Park. More adventures await on tiny El Hierro, verdant La Palma and peaceful Fuerteventura.

Belen de arena

Reviewed By MikaelF413 - Vantaa, Finland

The Belen de Arena on Las Canteras Beach is one of the main Christmas happenings in the city. This year, a total of 8 international sculptors have modeled the different traditional Christmas scenes in only 9 days. The entrance is free but at the exit, you can give some donation to the defense of the rights and welfare of children. Definitely a must-see place in Las Palmas during Christmas time.
