From Alberta’s southwestern border north into British Columbia, the Canadian Rockies are a network of provincial and national parks that collectively make up a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Banff and Jasper national parks are connected by the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in the world. The towns of Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper are hubs for adventures including hiking, horseback riding, rafting and wildlife viewing. Accommodation ranges from hotels to mountain lodges.

It’s early morning. The sky is in pure darkness, and you’re surrounded by stillness. You, alongside your local photographer guide, are out on-location to shoot one of nature’s greatest shows: sunrise. Take in the icons of Banff National Park as many don’t see them. Focus in as the first light of morning casts it’s warm glow on Mount Rundle from Two Jack Lake and Vermilion Lakes. The tour will then head to one or two more locations, depending on time and light conditions. Your guide’s know-how and extensive experience in the Park will show you the way, giving you absolute peace of mind that you’re at the very best location and primed to get the photo result you’re striving for. All this, while taking in your serene surroundings - making a memorable experience for any photographer.

Had a great full day of shooting iconic locations while in the Banff area with Mark Unrau. He knows the area well and knows photography. He helped me with composition, technique and he freely shared his experiences and knowledge with me. I highly recommend RMPA if you are looking to shoot beautiful landscapes and improve your skills! Mark is a great communicator, easy to talk to and very personable.

We booked a tour around the Jasper trails with Elissa. We weren’t sure what to expect but Elissa took care of everything. We took our own bikes so got set off promptly North out of Jasper along the Athabasca River along bridle ways and mixed use trails, we then returned to loop around Beauvert lake and back in to Jasper. The trails were XC focused with relatively little climbing but enough tech bits to keep things interesting. We were a mixed ability group and everyone came away with a big smile on their face. Elissa was a great guide and gave us a few tips for our onward journey to Vancouver Island via Whistler. I would highly recommend to anyone as the scenery spectacular and the ride is as difficult as you want to make it.
