Bulcock Beach

Reviewed By WorldTravla7 - Cairns, Australia

Bulcock Beach is a gorgeous, picturesque & protected beach backing onto Pumicstone Passage and perfect for a chilled out swim. There are no waves to speak of but you can walk 5 minutes up to Happy Valley or further up to Kings Beach if surfing is what you’re after. Otherwise just treat it as a refreshing saltwater lake. Bulcock is set against the backdrop of the Glasshouse Mountains, which can be seen in the distance. There are also plenty of cafes & restaurants across the road as well as the famous coastal boardwalk which offers world class ocean views.

Dicky Beach

Reviewed By umidowell - Narangba, Australia

Although you can’t take your dog onto the main part of Dicky Beach, there is an amazing off leash dog beach just a couple hundred meters further along! We took our family dog on his first holiday to Caloundra and looked around for an off leash dog beach - this one was amazing! Lots of friendly dogs for him to socialize with and run around with. Off the beach you needs to put your dog back on leash, there’s a water bowl and a dog wash station too. The surf was a bit too hectic for our little fella but he still loved the opportunity to run around with a bunch of other dogs in the sea air. ???????????? ????

Moffat Beach

Reviewed By CoffeeChill - Sunshine Coast, Australia

Just marvelous for experienced surfers, is one Moffat Beach, Caloundra on the super Sunshine Coast. It is a compact piece of sand, in particular at high tide, but there is plenty of adjoining green space where one can sit and or exercise. I often visit to check out the surfing action, as well as indulge in a morning brew at one of several excellent cafes in the area.

Shelly Beach

Reviewed By CoffeeChill - Sunshine Coast, Australia

Shelly Beach is not as well known as some of the more iconic beaches to found on Australia's beautiful Sunshine Coast. It is however, a compact, fantastic piece of coastline, that is ever popular with both families and solo beach-goers, alike. It is a superb place to have a picnic and or just enjoy the simple pleasure of getting 'sand between the toes' on a good, old fashioned, beach walk.

When we first settled here 20 years ago there was not one family beach at Golden Beach and now with money well spent by our council there is just a huge stretch of beach all along the foreshore at Golden and is just the best place for family activities with crystal clear, safe water and when the tide is out you can walk out into the passage safely to a huge sandback separated from the shore by walkable streches of water. Just fantastic and is now an obvious choice with parents with families and there area also BBQ and fishing facilities in this area with a local, very popular, restaurant (reasonably priced) overlooking it all. Just a great location for a family summer holiday.
