Shelby American Collection

UPDATE 3/17/20: The Shelby American Collection museum in Colorado is temporarily closed to the public until further notice due to CDC health recommendations. The Shelby American Collection celebrates the rich heritage of the Cobra, Shelby Mustang and Ford GT 40 cars that changed the face of auto racing in the 1960s. Thanks to the generosity of owners and collectors, we have some of the most important American cars ever made on display at our Boulder museum, along with an extensive collection of race records, period photographs, memorabilia and tributes to the pioneer drivers and visionaries of the era including Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant, Phil Hill, Phil Remington and other Shelby American Team members. The museum is dedicated to serve as a resource for all enthusiasts, and to memorialize & preserve one of the most important eras in American automotive history for all generations.

This is a must see Museum for fans of Shelby, Ford vs Ferrari or racing in general. They have some rare cars and for the price you can't beat it.

Open 363 days of the year! Free admission! Guided tours are available M-W-F at noon, self-guided tours otherwise. Great interactive exhibits. Came here with a group of adults; we had the most engaging docent. We spent about 90 minutes and I could have stayed longer. Beautiful architecture and fabulous setting. Give yourself enough time to wander outside on the Weather Trail. If you get hungry, there's a cafeteria where you can enjoy a snack or meal. Or, pack a lunch and enjoy the views from their patios. Add this to your list!

Boulder Arts and Crafts Gallery

Such an amazing selection of artists and mediums. We purchased a gorgeous menorah and previously bought a beautifully crafted wood and metal money clip. They literally have hundreds, if not thousands, of pieces to choose from. Staff is great and very helpful. The artists are both local and national. I love the fact that you can find art at varying prices from less than $50 to well over $1000. So many choices!!

Fiske Planetarium

Over 25,000 visitors a year gaze at the stars and learn about astronomy and space science at this Colorado University planetarium, which offers workshops, shows and hands-on activities. The Fiske's newest exhibit showcases findings from the Hubble Space Telescope.

Reviewed By bodiegirl - Colorado Springs, United States

Traveled to CU Boulder for family weekend and was pleasantly surprised that the laser shows at the Fiske were on the weekend agenda. Tickets were reasonable and the show a modest 45 minutes - laser show set to music from the 80's and 90's! Just what parents needed after a long day of activities. Highly recommend taking the time to go to one of the shows while in Boulder.
