Things to do in Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine: The Best Gift & Specialty Shops

May 18, 2022 Esmeralda Fenner

After many years of hard work, the "Sleeping Beauty" has awoken from its slumber. The city is beautifully restored and has an ultra-modern public transport system. The “Port of the Moon” is also now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Stone Bridge, with its 17 arches, crosses the Garonne, offering pedestrians a lovely view over the docks and harbor. Take a stroll through old Bordeaux in the Triangle d'Or and stop at Place des Quinconces, France’s largest public square. The city of Bordeaux is an ideal base for exploring the greater wine region’s unforgettable sights and tastes.

Sophie's Store

Sophie is French-American with "Basque -Cuban" origins. She is a true citizen of the world! She has bathed in the Anglo-Saxon culture from an early age. Back in France in 2011, after eight years spent in Miami and two in San Francisco, an entrepreneur at heart, she decided to launch a "concept store" dedicated to the Anglo-Saxon way of life. Tired of being told that there are no "gourmet" products in these countries, Sophie selects only gourmet and handmade items. These high quality products are chosen carefully: they must taste excellent and be hand crafted using natural or organic ingredients, packaging must be original and products cannot be found in supermarkets. When you enter Sophie's Store, you have the feeling that you are traveling "across the ocean." It has become her way to share her adoptive culture and love of the English-speaking world. Sophie also offers a range of decorative products, and accessories, typical of the " life to go " as bottles from California, travelling coffee mugs, lunch boxes and shopping bags. The "bodycare" section includes a selection of candles, body care products of high quality.
