Things to do in Barcelona, Catalonia: The Best Room Escape Games

June 2, 2021 Enedina Augsburger

Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

I went there with 4 of my friends and we had an amazing time! The atmosphere is very similar to the movie, you directly feel part of it. The game master is very talented, he makes you feel uncorfortable (in the good way) from the beginning. So much stress and intensity, I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for fun !

BarceLocked

BarceLocked is a real-life escape game in the old heart of Barcelona. A truly fascinating story with George Orwell (Big Brother is Watching You!) and Antoni Gaudí (Sagrada Familia) as the key elements. The room is very spacious and breathes authenticity. The puzzles are intriguing and designed with a lot of care. It holds a lot of surprising elements and we guarantee it is unlike any escape room you have seen before!

We have done many escape rooms around Europe. We really enjoy this escape room which we completed. I would recommend as something different to do in Barcelona. A lot of the clues where new to the usuals ones you see on the escape rooms which made it more fun.

Komnata Quest

Escape room is a new type of modern entertainment! Participants have 60 minutes to complete the challenge... The main goal is to unravel the mystery of Komnata and find the way out... It’s like a Hollywood blockbuster, except that you are the star! "Komnata" is an international project hosted in Europe, US and Russia, started in 2014. We create the network that will become an industry standard.

Our group did first the Sherlock Holmes room : very well decorated and great enigmas. You feel completely immersed in old London solving mysterious crimes. Thanks to the tension and some jump scared, you'll get the adrenaline kicking quite fast. We then decided to keep the fun going and booked their latest room: Hotel Overlook. And oh god, what an amazing job they've done to recreate the universe of The Shining. I don't recall being that scared in my life before! You are so into the game (with amazing set up and great enigmas again!), that it's hard to remember it's just a game. One of the best Escape Rooms I've done! Kudos to Claudia our game master for Sherlock, and Alberto our crazy game master for Hotel Overlook - both fit perfectly the theme of the rooms and their roles in it! I highly recommend it if you're looking for an Escape Room that is way more than just solving clues ;)
