Things to do in Barcelona, Catalonia: The Best Food & Drink

May 11, 2022 Moriah Teneyck

Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Barcelona Culinary Backstreets Walks

Our small group food tours of Barcelona are designed to showcase the best of the city's hidden culinary gems and historic back alleys. Our walks take place in the friendly and laid-back Gracia neighborhood, stronghold of the Catalan kitchen, and in the seaside El Born-La Ribera and Barceloneta districts, where life seems to be imbued with the easygoing maritime soul of the nearby Mediterranean. Sampling a mix of truly local markets, restaurants, bars and food shops -- as well as some select cultural and historical stops -- our two Barcelona culinary walks take you into parts of town and authentic places that would be hard to find on your own and provide a unique (and delicious) introduction to daily life in Barcelona. Marta's Private Paella Cooking Classes

Reviewed By hem833

We had an amazing time at Marta's apartment learning how to prepare delicious and authentic paella! Everyone in the group of 12 had at least one job so we all felt involved in the process and no one left hungry. Her apartment was cozy and eating dinner on the balcony was a wonderful way to spend an evening on vacation. Would recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona who is interested in an authentic and unforgettable experience!
