Things to do in Barcelona, Catalonia: The Best Bars & Clubs

April 16, 2022 Florencio Paulino

Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Stumbled across this bar run by a lovely brother and sister during a short trip to Barcelona. We enjoyed mojitos and caprinihas during happy hour. Very tasty cocktails, friendly atmosphere and lively Latin music.

We were lucky enough to have this bar round the corner from us which offers €3 cocktails until 9 o'clock which only increase to €4 until 11 and then 6 after that! There was a wide range of cocktails of which we had the mojito, pina coloda and the caipiroska. All of which were good especially considering the price for central Barcelona. This cosy little bar is perfect for young travellers.

Polaroid

Reviewed By stevetoye - Northwich, United Kingdom

Wow. This place is out of this world! We were looking for bars over the weekend, Feb 21st-24th, with so many to choose from just in the Gothic Quarter alone. And what a find. It's reminiscent of the FAB Cafe, Manchester, UK - everyone should visit. So, myself, girlfriend and daughter had read the reviews of Polaroid and it sounded right up our street, literally being only a few minutes from our hostal. The bar just from the outside looks enticing, and so welcoming. It is a little bit dark, but once you're inside you're surrounded by so much cool stuff and memories from the 80's + 90's. If you grew up in the 80's this place will transport you back to your childhood. The decor is fantastic, everywhere you look there's something else to make you smile. And the screens showing music video's just add that little bit extra. Drinks are a plenty, a varied selection of beers, spirits to get lost in and suitably named cocktails to fulfill your dreams!! And as it turns out, when you get some drinks, you also get some freshly made popcorn. The guy behind the bar(wish I'd gotten his name) was so friendly, and helpful when choosing drinks. Infact he's probably the friendliest person I've ever met. As usual in any European bar I've visited, the measures of spirits are very substantial. Makes the drinks strong, but the nights enjoyable. We made this one of our favourite bars over the weekend and look forward to heading back when we visit the city again. Don't miss out on this venue, you'll be sorry!!
