Bandera Historical Rides

There is nothing average about our Day Rides and Overnights, spectacular view at a hidden gem in Medina, exiting town rides in Bandera, climbs and vast meadows at Hill Country State Natural Area. Whatever you choose, our rides are an adventure beyond the regular nose-to-tail ride! And best of all, it is always in private groups and at the time you want to ride! Care for the horses are highest possible quality, saddles are high quality, and meet the horses and mules, they where ones unwanted and now re-trained to happily serve you. We bring the horses to all locations, so per booking only! To make a reservation, call, email, text or book directly online

Tom was a great guide- very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. I'm glad we got to meet him as part of the ride. My wife had never ridden a horse before and I had only rode twice before. Tom and BHR were very accommodating to to us and made us feel safe and confident. We took the "River Ride" and the views were beautiful!

Dixie Dude Ranch

Reviewed By Jiedw

During a touring holiday of Texas we spent 2 nights at the Dixie Dude Ranch, a family-run working ranch. Accommodation was in individual cabins. All meals were either in the ranch house or outside under the pergola. The holiday included supervised horserides. The horses are rescue animals which have been rehabilitated and are now in fabulous condition. My husband's horse was one-eyed but a lovely horse. There was entertainment of some sort on an evening including a champion stuntman. No TVs, no WiFi, no phone signal. A fabulous relaxing time. Wish we'd had longer. Ps I am a non rider but was looked after so well on the rides that I thoroughly enjoyed myself . Going back again some day .

We spent 24 hours on the ranch and had a wonderful time - our 2 young teens even enjoyed it! Highly recommend the trail ride - the horses were very well trained and the staff were helpful and kind. Papa J was very informative and enjoyable for the hayride, demos and even at the campfire. Our room - the Annie Oakley - was well appointed and a good value ???????? Highly recommend this experience!

Bandera County Courthouse

Reviewed By CharlieinTexas - Austin, United States

So many nice courthouses in Texas and this is certainly one of them. Beautiful structure, visible for a distance, tall (for the area) and statesman-like/stately, like the courthouses of days gone by ... Take the time to look at this beautifully, maintained building ... really memorable ... a part of history ...
