Things to do in Baltimore, Maryland (MD): The Best Bars & Clubs

May 22, 2022 Yuk Petri

Since the redevelopment of the Inner Harbor in the late 1970s, Baltimore has set the standard for urban renewal. While a good part of the city's action centers around the fun and festive Harbor area, where street entertainers, open-air concerts, fireworks and parades abound, the surrounding neighborhoods offer all sorts of interesting landmarks, unique shops and delicious restaurants. Wander around Fells Point, the oldest section of Baltimore, reminiscent of an old English village, complete with pubs and cobblestone streets. Take the kids to the aquarium and check out the imaginative creations at the American Visionary Art Museum. Or stop by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum for an in-depth look at the Great Bambino's life. Baltimore is also renowned for its African-American heritage sites, plus festivals and cultural events that take place throughout the year. From historic places and harbor cruises to family friendly attractions and fabulous neighborhoods, Charm City is one of the top tourist destinations in the United States.

Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub

This Irish pub is quaintly decorated, cozy on a cold day, and offers the usual bangers and mash, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie, but also rounds the menu out with sandwiches, crab dip, burritos and burgers. The service is fast and friendly, and it's fun making your way back to the bathroom and peeking out the windows at the defunct courtyard outside.

Power Plant Live!

As tourists we enjoyed going to a few of the bars and the one nightclub. We really enjoyed the one bar place that had all these board games you could play. We went relatively early and there was no charge to get in. I would not have paid to get in though since then you are just dropping a lot of money on drinks.

Rams Head Live

First time at Rams Head Live. It's a great small venue with plenty of general admission area including a 2nd floor area that provides great views all around. Plenty of bars to keep the lines down before and during the show. Lots of restaurants and cafes surrounding the place for after the show.. Look forward to coming back for future concerts.
