Things to do in Austin, Texas (TX): The Best Game & Entertainment Centers

September 2, 2021 Osvaldo Hartline

Every year thousands of hipsters, groupies, and die-hard fans flock to Austin for the annual South by Southwest festival, which has catapulted the Texas city up the must-visit charts for many travelers. The sandstone Capitol building is symbolic of the Lone Star State’s "bigger is better" mentality, featuring a gorgeous whispering gallery rotunda and 22 acres of grounds. Cool off with a dip in Barton Springs, a huge natural limestone pool that’s fed by underground sources.

This was the best part of our Austin trip. Yes, it's a little pricey, but we thought it was completely worth it. Check in was easy, and the ladies at the front desk were helpful. All the instructors were cheerful and enthusiastic and it really sets the mood of FUN, FUN, FUN! Once we were upstairs, we got to watch a family ahead of us for a few minutes before our instruction class started. Our kids got super pumped after getting to see the kids ahead of them do it, and watching their instructor do some tricks at the end. (Amazing!!!) Our instructor was Luciano and he was awesome. He seemed to really enjoy his job and his excitement was contagious. We watched a short video, and then he went over the hand signals with the kids and proper body posture. He was really good with our kids. It was so much fun just to watch my kids, and I laughed so hard at their antics, that at one point, I had tears streaming down my face. Gratuities are appreciated, and these guys are really working hard while in the tunnel with their clients. (so, give them a tip, they'll have earned it!) My husband and I chose not to fly, but had our four kids (4, 7, 10, and 13) fly 2 flights. We decided to pay the extra $10 to let them fly high and it was definitely worth it. My kids won't stop talking about their iFly experience and want to go back. I think this is the kind of memory they'll still be talking about when they are adults. We would absolutely do it again!

This was my second time after failing Prison Break (also awesome), but Classified was also just as fun. This one was a little simpler in design but the thrill was similar. Our game guide Zach was great in helping us through the experience, and I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting or in the area, this is a high quality escape game and by far the best one in the Austin area!
