I think I ve said everything already in the title! On the one side you shouldn't miss it, but on the other side the road is terrible. we ve been there with a scooter and it was not the most pleasant experience.. i dont think it would be much better with a car..

Vatses Beach

Reviewed By VassilisTs - Athens, Greece

Worth visiting beach, among best on Astypalea. It takes app 25 min drive from Chora, however during last app 12 min you have to drive on a dirt road. Surrounding landscape, typical dry Aegean Sea mountain pays off the hassle to arrive there. Beach is wide and some trees provide shade. Crystal clean and beautiful water !

Livadi Beach

Reviewed By 535marca - Bridgwater, United Kingdom

Considering it was early August, the beach was not overcrowded. Avoided the SW end as the music from the bar was loud (why do these places believe that everyone wants loud music when relaxing at a beach?) and settled at the area in front of the Alegro bar/restaurant (great snacks, drinks and friendly, efficient service). Crystal clear water and that view of Chora & Castle! The cove is well secluded from the strong Northerly winds and the water is calm and ideal for long swims across the bay!
