After a day touring this fine city, we chose this place on a recommendation from a friend. She was right, and it exceeded our expectations. The group playing was wonderful and the food terrific and prepared correctly. We had the vegetable plate, scottish eggs, roasted brussel sprouts, bangers and mash, and of course beer. Don't miss it.

This famous little New Orleans style nightclub offers up the city's best in live music, (from jazz, blues, funk, and latin.), the most delicious martini's and vast selection of great spirits and by far the best service in town, There is also a beautiful bar upstairs, available for any special events, from birthdays to wedding receptions. A must see while in Asheville !

I had the opportunity to visit the Orange Peel on a behind the scenes class tour. The venue is considerably large with 2 beer bars and 1 basement liquor club. The staff was very professional, and provided an excellent understanding of the logistics involved in running a music venue - which was particularly beneficial for a class full of future event professionals. The venue will soon be expanding to include a nearby outdoor location that will accommodate a lot more attendees which is a very exciting opportunity for both the venue and music lovers! Additionally, the venue was very clean and had a cool ambiance. I look forward to attending many future concerts there!
5. Smokey's Tavern Afterdark
This is Asheville's favorite tavern. Established in the 1950s, it's the oldest continuously operating bar of any persuasion in Asheville and contains a collection of barroom kitsch that would gladden the heart of any antiques dealer. An amiable crowd of multigenerational drinkers begins tippling every afternoon a few minutes after the place opens. You'll find a pair of pool tables, plenty of local homeowners to ask for advice, and, as the night progresses, enough good-looking local gays to make any visiting queer feel interested.
