In my travels I often scope out cigar bars and lounges for an evening smoke if they are available in the area. Prior to arrival I saw this location online and knew I had to stop by...so glad I did! Great lounge, great selection, excellent atmosphere, and well stocked bar. Humidor offers a wide selection and while I already am well attuned to the wide variety of cigars in the market...I found the tobacconist really knew their stuff. Leather chairs were very comfortable and conversations with other patrons was very enjoyable. I WILL visit again! Stay Smokey my friends!

I had my first experience with axe throwing last week at the Axeville Axe Throwing Club. I did this with a group of friends and we had a blast. This venue is excellent, especially for first time axe throwers. The online reservation process was simple and straightforward. The staff was committed to teaching us how to throw and gave us pointers throughout our time at the club. So if you are in Asheville and want to experience something new and different you need to try out the Axeville Axe Throwing Club! Cara Winstead

Malaprop's Bookstore / Cafe

Reviewed By 72DonnaW - Kennesaw, United States

We visited Malaprop’s to get out of the cold early on a Monday morning visit to Asheville. First, we visited the coffee bar for a warm-up, the selection of beverages was wonderful and interesting, with colorful names for its unique drink recipes! Our coffees were served hot and delicious, perfect for sipping as we browsed the store. What we found most intriguing about Malaprop’s was its focus on Asheville-based books. Whether it is a travel guide, hiking, food and cooking, or even local-interest fiction, the selection of unique regional offerings was striking. Also, books had interesting arrangements by genre: banned books took up one end cap, along with sections such as beautiful books, top sellers of the week employees’ recommendations, and “blind date with a book.” This last category we found most amusing, as each brown-paper-wrapped book is unknown to its buyer, except for a brief and intriguing description written on its cover as a summary of its contents. This seems such a fun way to “meet” a new read! We throughly enjoyed our browse through Malaprop’s, and recommend it highly as a little slice of Asheville’s culture!
