Its unique landscape, the clear skies that make it a perfect enclave for astronomic observation and rich gastronomy. Far from being inert, the Atacama Desert is an area abundant in energy, thanks to its welcoming ancestral cultures and the oasis that is the source of life in the driest desert in the world. It ascends the more than 4,000 meters of height of the Andean plateau to discover small towns that keep intact their customs in the middle of the extremes that are worth photographing. Explore the desert and highest point such as geothermal field located at 4300 meters above sea level in the Andean Mountain range. Visit to San Pedro de Atacama and explore unique landscapes in the world. Salaries, geysers and lagoons of an intense blue color, are part of the places that will amaze you.

The Rapa Nui National Park is not cheap as we pay 54,000 Chilean Peso (80US $) per person. You have no choice, because you come to Easter Island to admire the impressive Moai statues. Easter Island is special and I am glad I saw it

We took this tour last year. The guide doesn’t speak English at all, and keep repeating the same information over and over. They also don’t let you move and ask you to be next to them all the time. Amazing place but awful guide

Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.

5. The Salt of the Earth

Prisma Andino

Beautiful Road trip that takes you in the vastness of Chile. An adventure in 4x4 extreme lands. Strong contrast between the different altitudes and thermo-environmental levels. Flight from the capital of Chile to the north of the country. And then in jeep entry and exit from Bolivia, through high-altitude border crossings. The journey is often done within Natural Reserves considered national monuments. On the path you can improvise walks on paths that allow you to deepen the discovery of primeval territories. And then the final dive: 4500 meters panoramic routedown to the sea, to dinner with sea lions on the pier.

Inclusions: Lunch, Dinner, Dinner, Private transportation

Exclusions: Airport/Departure Tax

We booked a return tour from San Pedro Atacama to Uyuni salt flat. Overall the tour was amazing. We were lucky to have Wilson as our guide. He was driving carefully, giving a lot of info about the sights (in Spanish only), and he is also good at taking photos, which was useful at the salt flats. Communication prior to the tour was good too, Gabriel was always available to answer our questions. The slight downside was dealing with addional requests. Another couple from our group didn't get the private bathroom they paid for. The change of the driver in Uyuni, after the main part if the tour was finished, was a bit of unpleasant surprise. If you join this tour pack soap, sanitiser and toilet paper, as hygenic facilities are basic.
