Things to do in Antigua and Barbuda, Antigua and Barbuda: The Best Nightlife

April 14, 2022 Darwin Bolte

Lively Antigua and Barbuda move to the music of steel drums. You can visit a different beach each day and not repeat yourself for a full year—and that's why tourists and celebrities alike flock to this sun-soaked Caribbean island. Take a day cruise, rent some diving gear or cruise up the beach on a Segway for a real adventure, island-style.

Artcafe

The ArtCafe is on Two Foot Bay Road about one mile out of Codrington village, and is a small cafe and craft shop and the home of artist Claire Frank. The ArtCafe also now has one room to rent on a 'home-stay' basis which is listed on airbnb or can be booked through the barbudaful website. Claire paints on silk and makes hand-painted t shirts and other crafts. The ArtCafe also has cards, maps and extensive information about Barbuda and the Caribbean, collected over many years, that you can browse through over a freshly ground coffee, a home-made ice cold drink or cocktails. Lunch is a one-dish special served from 12-2 most days, and we also have occasional happy hours on Friday or Saturday evenings. Claire cooks local food with fresh ingredients but if you would like supper you must book in advance, so it's best if you call the ArtCafe first to see what she has and plan your menu, especially if you want to try something special.

Whatever you are looking for, Artcafe is the place to go. Claire cooks up the most tasty local cuisines, delicious drinks, engaging conversation, gifts to commemorate your guaranteed great memories, and accommodations that are sure to please all wrapped up in beautiful surroundings! Cute outdoor seating areas tastefully decorated, animals, vegetable gardens, and a beautiful, hand-stacked rock bench overlooking the yard. We stayed several nights with Claire and her family during which time we were treated so graciously that we felt right at home. Claire took us on an island tour of the Codrington ruins, caves, and Two Foot Bay to see the wonderful revitalized park area. We saw wild stallions, wilderness, and everything in between with history and current events filled conversation! All in all, if you make the effort to go to Barbuda, you must include the Artcafe!

Nice casual walk understanding some history of the island and the English influences. Boats docked there were amazing.

2SIX8 Craft Brewery

Antigua's first and only Micro brewery. We have beer on taps as well as bottles. Only bar on the island with draft beer. Check out our Facebook page for our seasonal beer. All ales are made in house.

Thank God for 2SIX8!!! Antigua was in desperate need of good beer and 2Six8 has saved them from a fate of suffering from inferior beer syndrome (IBS). IBS (in this case) is where you’re stuck on an island and there is nothing but small, plain lager beers to drink. Thank you 2Six8 for saving us all! Great beer and wonderful staff. Nikki was kind and entertaining, and Hops the dog was adorable and fun loving. Our favorites were the Goat Farm pale ale and Frig It amber. When we arrived they had just run out of canned beer since they had sponsored a large event the previous day, so what did they do to rectify this? They canned more beer for us and we picked it up the next day. Fantastic!
