Hello People. I always wanted to visit this place and I termed my journey as ‘ From Gomukh to Narmada Udgam’. Narmada Udgam or Amarkantak Temple is a very famous pilgrim town in District Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh. The Amarkantak region is a unique natural heritage area and is the meeting point of the Vindhya and the Satpura Ranges, with the Maikal Hills being the fulcrum. This is where the Narmada River, the Son River and Johila River emerge. One can truly feel serenity and blessing here, as this place holds a unification of many cultures. The Place is well connected by all means of transport and has very good budget accommodation available at very cheap price. The nearest railway stations are Anuppur 50 kms via Keonchi, and Pendra Road only 28 kms via Jwaleshwar Dham. The nearest airport is Dumna Jabalpur (Jabalpur Airport) in the city of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh which is 240 kms and private buses are easily available. The place is like a paradise, heaven on Earth. I recommend you to reach there at the sun rise time. Expect a colder ambience, sweater and gloves are must or else hands are gonna get numb( especially in winter season). Lot of monkeys there. Great place for photography enthusiasts.
