Despite visiting Ahmedabad on numerous occasions I had yet to make it to the Sarkhej Roza. I was finally able to visit early last year. A fascinating mix of Islamic, Indo-Saracen and Hindu architectural influences, Sarkhej Roza is a must do for history and architecture lovers. It is also a drop of calmness in the bustle of Ahmedabad which adds to its charm, although we went in the late afternoon when it was probably a bit quieter.

Located 200 kms from Ahmedabad, 100 km from Vadodara. The statue of unity overlooking picturesque Narmada valley is the most talked about monument in India, being tallest in world at 182 m. The statue commemorates unity of modern India and the iron man who made it possible honourable sardar vallabhai patel. With a spectacular hieght and magnitude, view, facilities it is the most visited monument overtaking statue of liberty. Govt investment seems to have been put in total glorification, upkeep and easily the best kept place in Indian tourism in terms of escalator, ample parking, water, information etc. The elevated gallery view needs prior booking which can be done online. Being already rated a wonder of world by Shanghai committee, I m sure this monument should be on every ones must visit list especially if in Gujarat. You ought to visit the place to see and believe
