My wife and I enjoyed a superior wine tasting at Veritas Vineyard - easily the #1 winery in the local area. Compared to another mountain winery, Veritas provides tastings in glass glassware, and from glass mini-bottles. Local peers choose to provide flight tastings in cheap, fly-away plasticware. Make this your 'mountain' stop!

We stopped here to pick up a couple of local bottles of wine. We got the table red and the their Cabernet Frac. Both were excellent.

Our group of 6 had a delightful time at the Farm House located right on the property at Cardinal Point Winery. Beautifully decorated, gourmet kitchen, lots of space, comfy beds, beautiful views, great Hosts! If you are looking for a reunion location, family getaway or otherwise want to experience a farm house on a working winery, look no further! The kitchen has every gadget even those most gourmet chefs could want! While we were there in the winter, the property also has a beautiful pool overlooking the vineyards which seems like a super fun place to spend some summer time, with some wine! We also did a tasting at Cardinal Point, just a short stroll down the hill through the vines. The wines were excellent, as was our service from the lovely Leslie! Owner, Susan Gorman was delightful to work with. Highly recompensed both the Farm House experience and the great wines!

Afton Mountain Vineyard is on the sunrise side of the Blue Ridge mountains, 30 minutes from Charlottesville and 20 minutes from Staunton, VA. With vines planted in 1978 all the way through 2020, we serve all dry wines that are produced from estate-grown grapes. The tasting house and Pavilion are surrounded by vines and mountain views. At this time our patio, Pavilion and lawn are open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis. No parties more than 6 people. no guests under 21.

Their sign out front that states "Grapes don't grow in ugly places" could not be more true than in this locale. Great service and wine, elegant tasting room, patio, and pagoda, and where I'd choose to get married if they still hosted weddings. Ah, well.

My wife and I visited this vineyard during a little escape from Virginia Beach during the pandemic and we were very impressed how they promoted social distancing and proper sanitizing practices. Their wines were delicious and we were able to enjoy them at happy hour prices, a vineyard with a happy hour! I know! To top it all off we had an amazing view of the mountains and the vineyard owner Jim crooned and played guitar providing an amazing atmosphere! Your Virginia Beach fan club loves you Jim!

The Retreat at Veritas Winery is a wellness educational & lifestyle retreat held at Farmhouse. Our programs range from one day mini retreats to five day jump start fitness programs. They are fun and dynamic combinations of yoga, hiking, fine dining, vineyard education and wine tasting. The days end reminiscing with your new friends over a casual glass of wine and some chef prepared light fare.
