With a large group of colleagues we went at Keparanga.Dozens of grilled lobsters were grilled on a giant barbecue. Plus gambas, monkfish, beef filet, suckling pig skewers. And South African wines. We had a pleasant dinner by the "lagoon" swimming pool.

L'echo Cotier

This is a fantastic spot for seaside serenity and excellent cuisine. The professional and genuinely welcoming service provided by waiters Abou and Dao is an added bonus. The setting of this comfortable restaurant overlooking a pristine empty beach and the Atlantic Ocean at Popenguine cannot be beaten.I've now lunched 8 times at the Echo Cotier and never had a single dish which wasn't good.Booking (+221 33 957 7172) is an absolute "sine-qua-non" to avoid disappointment - especially at weekends - as the recently opened A1 Motorway from Dakar to Sindia is already bringing many additional bourgeois city-folk to discover the delights of Popenguine's tranquility.

Safari Beach

Reviewed By AlastairJ668

Please note: In fairness to the Safari Beach Restaurant, this report concerns only the BAR and not to the restaurant as a whole. With my family, we went to the Safari beach for an early evening Apéro at around 6:00pm. As all of the tables were set up for dinner, we opted to stay by the bar - using the bar stools and to order our drinks there. There were about 5-6 staff in or around the bar who were busy talking, joking and laughing amongst themselves loudly who took little notice of us when we arrived. I had to ask if it was ok to have a drink or cocktail before being offered the drinks list. After 5 minutes then I had to call over one of the bar staff to be able to make an order for the 3 of us. There were no other customers at the bar. I ordered 2 of the same cocktails and a G&T. The order took 10 minutes to be served and the staff's humorous banter and chit-chat with each other continued loudly between the staff all around us - as though there was no concern whatsoever for respecting the presence of paying customers at the bar. We decided not to have a second drink there in the light of the bad and impolite service and ambiance at the bar.We then went on to Le Petit Zinc, for our next drinks, where there was a super ambiance and where the service was fast, professional and polite and the drinks were half the price of the Safari Beach - due to it being Happy Hour.I know the Safari Beach Restaurant food is quite good from my past experience and the view of the beach and the seaside is lovely - however, I shall now personally avoid going to the Safari Beach because of this ill-disciplined, unruly and rude bar-staff experience we suffered there.Hello,My english is very bad... I would like to thank you for your constructive cooperation and i really present you all my excuses for the bad moment you had in our restaurant. It's true the direction is not at there at that time but we will be carefull on the future. I hope you will let us another chance... Best regards

La Guinguette

Reviewed By Lucysworldtravels

I had an absolutely fantastic birthday dinner at this restaurant. We went because I read the reviews & La Guingutte did not disappoint! We live in Saly and I get very bored of all the restaurants serving the same dishes. Not so here, where they had creative an impeccably prepared entrees and plats. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back! Only one minor issue, the restaurant is hard to find as it's tucked away on a side street and even locals weren't sure where it was when we stopped to ask directions in the neighborhood.

Couleurs Senegal

Reviewed By Lucysworldtravels

Living in the Saly region means you are surrounded with overpriced, pretentious French restaurants. Not so Couleurs de Senegal which is a relaxed place and a favorite with locals for consistently delicious food at a reasonable price. Dining is under an open-sided, airy thatched roof or poolside (which we prefer because so many French customers smoke). Our favorite dishes are the coriphane avec sauce basilic, the tagliatelle carbonara, and especially the seafood paella (when they have it- if you have a large party you can call ahead and request it).

L'o a la Bouche

International and French cuisine, authentic pizza in a lush garden or indoor, original and exotic decoration, quality service.

Delightful decor both inside this recently-opened (mid-2014) restaurant and in the perfectly maintained floral garden/terrace out front. The French owners (with monsieur en cuisine and madame en salle) ensure that food is of a very high standard and that the service is efficient. A warm ambiance is evident between the staff and this also contributes to ensuring an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience here at L'O à la Bouche. Live music an dancing on some evenings, too.

Seemingly upscale place in this off the beaten path area. The owner is friendly and the food also reasonable. There are so few upmarket places. It's necessarily a place to go if you stay a couple of days.

This was our 2nd visit to L’Ardoise in 2017 since it’s been under Lilli & Xavier’s management. We appreciated the same warm welcome as our last visit. We enjoyed some excellent foie gras as a starter and a good succulent pot-au-feu with a juicy shin-bone full of rich marrow and a fish crumble which tasted fine but mysteriously seemed to lack any crumble. All of the above was washed down by a most enjoyable Moroccan Red « Domaine de Toulal » reasonably priced at only 11’000CFA.It was a good night out.
