Beautiful Historic Cabin

Reviewed By suekO8127UJ

We had a lovely time at this comfortable old log cabin bed and breakfast. We really appreciate the time and effort that the owners put into restoring the old log cabin structures, and updating them enough to still be comfortable and welcoming. There are a lot of steps, if you have a problem with that you might not be as comfortable here as we were. Sitting on the porch and reading was a pleasant way to spend the evening, and breakfast was delicious and substantial. I can’t wait to visit again!

The Quinn Inn

Originally a Victorian home built when the main street of Portage was nothing but dust, and the sidewalks built of wood. The Quinn Inn now boasts 3 smartly appointed rooms with luxurious bedding for even the most discerning sleepers. The home has plenty of room to spread out or to entertain with a large living room, fully remodeled eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, and Victorian styled parlor. The large back yard has plenty of space for kids to play, and there is ample parking for up to 4 vehicles. If you are visiting during a holiday, be sure to utilize the best seats in town for parades. The front porch is the most sought after place to watch the town liveries during annual parades.

Quinn Inn - Highly Recommended

Great place to stay while visiting Portage PA. Very Clean, the inn is very inviting and the bedrooms are decorated nicely. We were in town for a class reunion and didn’t the kitchen but the kitchen would be great to have family over for dinner. Or fix a dish if you are in town for a family reunion. My husband enjoyed his morning coffee on the front porch. Breakfast is included at the Chatter Box and their cinnamon rolls are fantastic. The Chatter Box also have a collection of Portage year books.

Mothers Day Brunch

Reviewed By Annamary M

My family took me to Marinades today for the Mothers Day brunch. After hearing so many great reviews I couldn't wait to get there. The service had to be about the worst I have ever had! The waitress came to the table right when I was seated. I told her my husband was parking and my daughter went to the restroom they will be here shortly. She said she will be right back and after sitting there over 20 minutes we decided to start helping our self. When she did return which was way later I said to her you never came to explain what we do here she said I'm here now!!!!! The table was for 2 people but they squeezed 3 of us there and I'm looking at a wall. The food was cold and the baked potatoes were hard and under cooked. Waited forever for our check and really the list can go on! Very disappointed and it really ruined my Mothers Day! I hate to say all of this but it was really a bad experience and as much as I hated to I still gave a 15 % Tip. Hope someone else has a better experience than we did!!!!

Christmas horror

Where the room are absolutely beautiful the owner is another story at first she was ve pleasant but offered up to much info other prior guest and her own personal life. Then proceeded into offering various positions for work and her restaurant within a days time she flipped a switch as if she were a different person. I checked out of 1 bdrm and upgraded to the 2 for 3 extra days, that was the mistake where the rooms are huge and beautiful she had no care or concern for guest privacy. She walked into aprtmnt on multiple occasions which was offensive turned the heat down to punt where was colder inside then it was outside. The whole day freezing then when I questioned about it all of a sudden FURNACE was back on. Complete disaster sad and unfortunate situation without her actions

A Bit of Heaven in the Mountains

Reviewed By Lydia C

We booked here because seeing Fallingwater has been a lifelong dream and this is one of the closest b and b’s. The location is stunning, with fresh mountain air and a spectacular view. The house is kept spotless and the beds are so comfortable. Most amazing is Julie, the owner/host. She has info on everything local and goes out of her way to help guests with their plans. She cooks up a wonderful full breakfast - no stale doughnuts and weak coffee here! This is someone who was born to host people; a people person who goes above and beyond. We will be back, with our kayaks next time, and plan to tell the world about this piece of alpine paradise. Thanks Julie!

Great B&B in Altoona, PA

Reviewed By Matt B

I stayed there for two nights as a delightful alternative to all hotel chains in the area. The old house, built in 1830, was very nicely restored by the owner/proprietor, JaNean Karlie. I highly recommended it for anyone who appreciates old houses. It is a very nice place to stay for individuals, couples and families JaNean is very hospitable and pleasant. She prepares and serves breakfast herself. As far as I know, she does all of the housekeeping and maintenance too.
