Historical stories and experiences from the era of the sailing ships! The Trade House of Lang is a 19th century style café and restaurant, shop and boutique hotel all in one, telling the history of the old trade house by the Pekka Square in Old Raahe.
The sign outside says ‘boutique hotel’, but that may throw you a bit off track. The hotel is actually a few rooms in one (maybe two) picturesque wooden villas in the old part of Raahe. The hotel functions as part of a very popular café which I found to cause unnecessary delays while registering. I wouldn’t say that the rooms are ‘renovated’. They are more like redecorated into a pastiche of a 19th century neoclassical style of the original villas. The room was charming enough, and the breakfast was simple but very edible. The location is excellent for Raahe.

I spent a night here while had my car fixed. A fine and elegant four-room inn with a relaxed chat with a nice host. The rooms have been renovated nicely. You can go to sauna and enjoy homely atmosphere. Will be back in summer time, highly recommended.

Sijainti erinomainen. Huone siisti ja riittävän kokoinen. Hyvä sänky ja 5. kerrokseen autojen äänistä ei ollut haittaa. Huoneen varustus ja lämpötila OK. Autopaikoitus helposti saatavilla. Meitä oli kaksi henkilöä, kumpikin omassa huoneessaan. Kummassakaan huoneessa televisio ei toiminut (oiskohan kaukosäätimen patterien virta loppunut). Tämän takia yksi "tähti" arvostelusta lähti. Toivottavasti seuraavalla kerralla tämä on korjattuna.

88 € for a night is ok if you get a tidy room and a good sleep. But if there's none, you think you should have chosen better. This is what happened to us. We drove from Helsinki to Kempele to buy a motorcycle and needed a place to spend a night. We arrived after closing time but it was ok, after reminding the stuff about our arrival, we finally got instructions and got in. The room was awful. Worn, broken, dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. Spider net, dust, dirt all over. At least the beds were good and linen clean. Unfortunately our neighbors were loud speaking ladies who spoke and spoke and the noise came through the ventilator and we could hear everything. Long trip behind so we had to shout them to keep quiet. Thank god they did but they woke up at 0730 and started to talk again. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Home made bread was a nice surprise. In the real life a place like that is worth 50€, not more. At least they should clean the rooms properly and fix them. I can give five stars to a hotel which is simple or modest but clean. This was awful.
