Wonderful Holiday address
Reviewed By Joop VThe place is located at the south, just outside Bonito City, but it is only 5 minute by car to the center. It is quiet and has a beautiful surrounding A lot of wild animals and birds can be seen. The owners are very friendly, Didier (Asterix as we called him) is from Belgium and welcomes you every morning with a happy "Good Morning", but also his Brazilian wife is sweet and helpful. The breakfast is very good and healthy, tasty fruits and fresh home made cakes every morning. The chocolate cake of Didier is the best we ever tasted. The cabins were simple but spacy and clean. Not much closet space though an the shower has a bit low pressure. Wifi is very slow, but that is the case in the whole Bonito region, since it is based on old fashion radio signal. So despite these minor comment of the room, we loved the stay in this place.

It´s a perfect place to combine relaxing with family or friends but also to take a trip on your own and enjoy the day trips, bealtifuul sun set or night safaris.

Superbe séjour dans le Pantanal !
Reviewed By Manu LNous avons passé 3 jours/4 nuits dans la fazenda Santa Cruz ou nous avons été très bien accueillis par la famille d'Helena et par le personnel. Les explications riches et détaillées sur l'histoire du Pantanal ainsi que sur l'organisation du travail dans cette fazenda nous ont permis de bien comprendre la vie au quotidien dans cette ferme. Pendant ces trois jours nous avons profité des activités proposées, à savoir: une promenade autour de la fazenda à la découverte de la faune et de la flore, des excursions en 4x4 de jour et de nuit, une après midi pêche et vélo et deux matinées de balade à cheval. La chambre était confortable, propre et bien équipée avec un balcon. Les repas étaient excellents, nous nous sommes régalés avec cette cuisine familiale faite maison et préparée avec le cœur par Elza. Nous recommandons vivement la fazenda Santa Cruz lors de votre séjour dans le Pantanal.

Amazing personalised experience from the hosts at Meia Lua
Reviewed By Zamy12Meia Lua is a very special place. The ranch is a family-owned and managed working farm. Neto is an incredible host who missed no opportunities to make our experience special. Our group of 4, two couples, spent 3 nights at Meia Lua. The pousada is lovely, with a nice pool, hammocks, and simple but comfortable rooms. The wildlife was incredible. Numerous toucans and hyacinth macaws live in the trees and are routine visitors around the house, and we saw armadillo, 2 giant ant eaters, and 3 grey foxes without ever leaving the property. The food was unbelievable. Neto's Mom and Grandma made huge quantities of local and regional food, and eating with the family made it a really personal experience. From guiding us for horseback riding, showing us the local spots in town, organising our snorkelling trip to Bonito, guiding us on walks in the jungle on the property, and building great bonfires under the stars, Neto made everything easy and personalised. He is an excellent self-taught English speaker and was also excellent at logistics, like sending us a video showing the subtle turnoff from the main road to make it easy to find. Neto also organised our day trip to the wet Pantanal and accompanied us to make things easy and also get real time feedback on the various activities. If you want a boutique experience, great Pantanal wildlife, and thoughtful service, this is your place. Cannot recommend it enough!!!

Remote Ranch offering amazing wildlife
Reviewed By jbeallfotoThis is a remote5,000+ acre working ranch with cabins that provide one with unprecedented experience of the nature of the Pantanal. From working cowboys, to studying scientists with NGO's carrying out studies on the wildlife, you are treated to the in depth Brazilian rural culture. Day and Night safari's can be arranged to see various wildlife, Tapirs, giant anteaters, and more. Horse riding is available to explore the numerous areas of the property. The birds are abundant everywhere, and the ranch works with a local NGO providing nesting boxes for the endangered Blue Hyacinth Macaw. The on site guide Claudio though not speaking english is well versed in the wildlife and keep keep a group entertained for hours with his after hours card tricks. The owners Bruno & Julio inherited it from their father, a legend in area. It is named after his birthday. They have a pool, wifi, and amazing home cooked food. Accommodations for up to 20 people.
