Proposed review: Brad’s team was amazing. Our four night/three day trip was great fun and very challenging for a sixty year old with very moderate riding experience. We arrived about 5pm on the first night. The tents were up and ready to move in. The camp site had everything required to be comfortable. Toilet, fresh water, a creek to cool off in, and ice for ice chests. A shower is available on request. The food was fantastic- Frank has refined the art of camp cooking and provides delicious three course meals and bountiful breakfasts. We particularly enjoyed steak night - perfectly cooked steaks with mash potato and green veggies. Delicious! A lot of time was spent around the camp fire enjoying the company and the food among friends. The horses were very well matched even though we were a large group. A solid safety talk included care for the horses as much as the humans. Reynella treasure their horses. The tack is well kept. The horses are healthy and strong. We did a different ride every day - one expansive route around Kemp’s Plain, one in and out to Schofields and one up and down the mountains. Each ride was different, some more physically demanding than others. Every lunch stop is at a fresh spring with shade and picnic style lunches. We were blessed with perfect dry weather about 24c high and 6-7c low. My horse, Cascade, was very responsive and we had a few good canters and trots off the pad. Personally I really enjoyed just walking and looking at the beautiful scenery and watching the brumbies run, circle and challenge each other. We had several close encounters with brumbies - sudden surprises that were delightful. We came upon them just over a ridge a couple of times, and another time a small group just ran by the lunch picnic area. Otherwise there were large herds of brumbies on every ride seen in the distance. The leaders communicated really well and the teamwork was impressive. We had a big group of ~18 but it worked pretty well. I think it would be better to keep the max at about 12-14 because mounting up and checkpoints get quite lengthy and sometimes tedious when everyone and every horse is hot and tired. The booking process seems to be in need of improvements. Possible too many cooks spoil the broth. It was chaotic but it eventually got sorted. We did get it all done in the end. Brad, Miriam, Michaela, Roger, Frank and Warwick are impressive equestrians that seemed to keep the show going effortlessly. We couldn’t have wished for a better trip. Ticked all the boxes for us.

The bedding is high quality and all beds have electric blankets. All linen is supplied. Both of the huts feature huge, stone open fireplaces and with snow on either Christmas or Boxing Day, on 5 of the past 9 years, the fireplaces can be enjoyed on most nights of the year. Cute little cottage for a break away

Our children booked us 2 nights at Moonbah Hut and it was a lovely little getaway. We were in the lake hut - unfortunately it rained the whole time so we couldn't explore too much, but the hut was warm and cosy. They've had a lot of rain and the lake was high so unfortunately we couldn't even get to the outdoor bbq which was a shame. The view across the lake to the mountains behind were lovely. It was also a nice surprise to find a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine on arrival - thanks Brett! We recommend bringing your own food as the kitchen is congested and a little difficult to manage - you have to move any electrical appliances to the sink to plug in which was a bit fiddly. The fridge was playing up (we left a note to alert the owners) but the shower was nice and hot and there were beautiful luxurious bathgowns to relax in. The lighting isn't great and as we really only could read or play cards it was a bit tricky but we managed. Overall a nice experience - but remember there is no service for mobiles or internet so if you run a business (like us) you need to go to town to check messages.

Fantastic stay

We had a brilliant time at Highland. Lots and lots of space for the kids to run around and lots of things for them to see and do. We were able to feed chickens, collect eggs, pat goats, go on the go-karts, there was a little kids play equipment area, toasted marshmallows on the fire pit, my pizzas in the pizza oven. The owners are delightful and also took us on a ride in their Ute into one of the far paddocks to afford us great views of Jindabyne. The rooms are large and there is a very big kitchen but no oven so don’t plan on baking! But a great stove nonetheless. The farm is about 15 minutes easy drive to Jindabyne. Other things we did while we were staying there was visit shut the door winery in Berriedale which I highly recommend. We did the waterfall Trail bushwalk out of Sawpit Creek which is 6 km round trip and was a stunning walk. We also did the summit walk which of course is a firm favourite with lots of avid hikers. We went to the Eucumbene Trout Farm as well and we were not very impressed. We didn’t feel the owners were very helpful and had no luck catching any fish after 3 hours of fishing :(

Eleven of us stayed in this lovely house. Great views , very clean , it felt like home. The spa was well used by us , plenty of firewood ready for the cool nights. We were made to feel very welcome. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cutlery and cooking equipment so we didn't have to worry about bringing anything . Have stayed here a number of times and would highly recommend it.
