An unexpected good value place to stay en route to the south
Reviewed By gingerfranceWe were tired and needed to stop- nothing booked so we took a chance! What a pleasure to find such a fun place. Yes it is a bit tired but the welcome is great and you won't quarrel with the price. We were upgraded to two apartments which had balconies and lovely views over the valley. They were clean and comfortable. Dinner was served with a smile and the menu features meat raised by the owner and the wine Chuletillas de Cordero was delicious. A path from the hotel leads directly to the village and if you walk down in the morning you will see the owner tending his livestock. Happy pigs, rabbits and goats. The hotel is undergoing renovation and hopefully this won't change the soul of this place.

I can not recommend this wonderful establishment enough. Incredible hospitable host and housekeeper. My room was spotlessly clean, I have a beautiful view and it’s spacious. Lovely bathroom and great furniture. The communal space also looks great however I’m happy to just chill in my room. Bed is very comfortable.

Charming, uniquely styled and in a lovely location
Reviewed By TheBlueDuckFirst of all, great location, the views of the mountains from the property are excellent. The scores for this property are a reflection against expectations, the property is a charming large converted house in a very small village, it is not a five star hotel. That said the bedroom was nicely furnished, the bathroom facilities all worked well and were relatively recent. The whole property is decorated with charming handicrafts, some of which are available for sale. Breakfast was good and the dinner splendid value for money. If you want dinner the evening you arrive do let them know in advance. The property has a large garden at the front with plenty of small tables ideal relaxing with beer or glass of wine in the evening. A sign on the road pointing up the small drive that leads to the hotel would have helped.You need to drive up the alley just to the right of number 22.

La comida inmejorable, tanto las carnes, cocido, o verduras de su propio huerto. Pero lo que más me gustó, es el trato de los dueños que me han hecho sentir como en casa. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.

Rural accommodation in the form of a HOTEL. Only 10 km from Cáceres (World Heritage City). In the capital of the Torta del Casar cheese area. Situated at the crossroads of Vía de la Plata, Cañada Real and The Route to Santiago. Ideal setting for many recommended trips. Originally a cattle and dairy farm. Later it became a bullring and large country house. Its current owners, with careful renovation work, have converted the property into an accommodation offering leisure and relaxation, exclusive and accredited with the “Higher Tourist Category”. The life of this Extremadura farm rotates around a large courtyard.
A couple of good points but too expensive. Will not return
Reviewed By Racceels86The good points : the property is close to the motorway and about half way between Santander and the Costa del Sol. It has secure parking. We had reserved a homemade evening meal which was good. Now the negatives. Having been quoted 23 euros p.p for dinner, we were charged 25 euros (didn’t notice until we had left). With dinner, my husband had a small beer and I had a 20 cl bottle of cava for which we were charged 12 euros, a rip off in my view. Breakfast cost 10 euros and was inedible. Another guest (the only other person having breakfast felt similarly). As breakfast juice, we were offered what sounded like peach and pea, which we declined. As an alternative, we were offered orange juice which we accepted gratefully only to discover later that we were charged €5 for this as it wasn’t “on the menu”. On arrival, we were shown into a guest kitchen where we could make ourselves a drink and write down what we had consumed. We made ourselves a cup of tea using one tea bag AND washed up after ourselves, for which we were charged 3 euros on leaving. This a farmhouse with converted stables where the bedrooms are housed. It was February and the room felt cold even though the heating was on and to be fair was left on all night. I had sent two emails asking for a room with a large bed. We were given two single beds. No point asking to change because we were told the hotel was full. We could have chosen a parador at €89.incl breakfast. Easy to be wise after the event! I

Reviewed By Colin PWe really enjoyed our one night staying here. The Hostel is in a village on what looks like a dead end road so a peaceful nights sleep is pretty much guaranteed.Wonderful mountain views from our clean neat bedroom and lovely food. Recommended.

Reviewed By salseroviajanteLa casa dispone de varias habitaciones, dos baños y dos salones divididos en dos plantas. Encontraremos una sala donde hay un billar, dardos y varios libros de lectura. También tiene una terraza y un patio larguirucho. Y la cocina, equipada con lo necesario. En general la casa está muy bien, muy calentita para el invierno y conserva la esencia de las casas de antaño, situado en una aldea tranquila donde poder aparcar fácilmente y a unos 20 minutos de León.
