Flynns on Surf

Full marks for flexibility during flood crisis

Reviewed By emtnems

We had booked to stay in Flynn’s on Surf Beach with the family on the way up to the Gold Coast, but the flooding on the NSW coast required us to reroute through the inland. I had to cancel 24 hrs before arriving, and without hesitation Flynn’s accepted my request for a waiver of the full cancellation fee. Well done and thank you! That is customer service. Hopefully we will be able to book again for our next trip.

Birthday Getaway

Reviewed By amandajoco

I organised a weekend stay for my Hubby’s birthday in the Olive Cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived to find that Eloise and Troy had left a lovely card and cake in the fridge for my Hubby, as well as a bottled of wine and box of yummy treats for us to enjoy. Smoky the resident retired horse came by for visits throughout our stay. Very quiet and relaxing stay. We also enjoyed a lovely spa that is in a corner of the cottage & was able to look out on the beautiful views. Highly recommend! We will be back

Ripples is remarkable!

Reviewed By KathieB460

Had often driven past Ripples and seen it but this time was able to stop and enjoy a night by Grady Creek. The accommodation was beautifully designed and furnished with lots of little extras. Not many places like Ripples would do a one night stay but for a small surcharge they do. A lovely Creek to swim in, birds and stars to observe, DVDs, books, CDs, continental breakfast provided, chocolates, Tim Tams etc. Very comfortable accommodation, stylish decor, good air conditioning. Would thoroughly recommend Ripples on the Creek for a stay.

Fab Farm Stay

Clean and homely cottage with amazing views. We stayed for 3 nights - 2 adults and 2 children (7 and 5) - and we all loved looking after the animals with Farmer Trevor - he is very kind and interesting to chat to about all aspects of farming. The pool was lovely too - although next time we will try to stay when the water has warmed up a bit more! Thank you Beth and Trevor.

Tallowood Ridge, Wingham, NSW

Reviewed By Wendy P

We found Tallowood Ridge B and B when exploring the NSW mid North Coast countryside, an area of considerable interest. This is a lovely place in a beautiful location. The accommodation is quiet and private in a separate building from the owners. We had a clean comfortable double room with a bathroom, kitchen and lounge. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool, and sitting under the stars each evening in the gazebo. Bob and Kwan are great hosts and helped us to make the most of our stay by allowing us to roam on their 89 acres of land where we saw wildlife including kangaroos. We left feeling refreshed and de-stressed after a couple of days here. A taste of real Australia.

Third visit great location, large flat, grassy sites. We had a credit for three nights. We rebooked, and due to massive price hike, went down to two nights and paid an extra $33. Won't stay here again.

Girls Weekend Away

Wanderers Retreat, well it is a retreat. Closed off from the outside world. We stayed in the Beach House . 3 ladies each in a queen room. Bedroom 1 - still has the old timber bed and mattress. The bed was not comfortable for me as it was hard. The other 2 queen beds were new ensembles and much more comfortable. The carpet in the main bedroom had many stains. The carpet is showing its age so to speak. The bathrooms were large and just standard. We found the old white shower enclosures were stained and looked dirty. The toilets being an eco type composting toilet were fine, no smell at all fantastic product! The kitchen had everything you needed and was clean and tidy. There was a musty smell to the house, but that would be from being in a rain forest type of surround and the amount of rainfall to the area. Outside we had use of a 6/8 person spa and it was great! Bruce cleaned it daily. Friendly Possums lived in the little houses provided and were not a concern. Friendly Magpies also stopped by for a snack and chat. Vivienne and Bruce are easy to converse with and all in all a lovely place to stay.

This is truly a stunning location on the banks of the Hunter River. Tucked away at the end of a quiet road. has nice facilities like tennis court and pool. The vineyard was stunning in autumnal colours and the wines perfect. We were welcomed with homemade bread and jam. The surroundings are very good for bike riding.
