The Frankenmuth Motel is AAA approved and locally owned and operated. The Motel is one street off of Main street, just 2 blocks North of Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland. We are situated between Michigan's Own Military and Space Museum and Zeilinger Wool Company. The Motel has 53 ground floor rooms and (following State Law) we are all non-smoking. The Motel does have a outdoor smoking area. We also have a limited number of pet rooms with a small cleaning fee. Coffee is available in our office/front desk area during office hours and a cold continental breakfast is available every morning. We may not be located on Main Street but we are only about 5 blocks from most Festivals and the RiverPlace Shops. We are only 8 blocks from Bavarian Inn and Zehnder's Restaurants downtown and all of Main Street has Free Parking. Within walking Distance of Zehnder's Splash Village.
A very nice stay at an excellent motel
Reviewed By E2642SFdeborahcOur group got a block at the Frankenmuth Motel for an event on the grounds of the Bavarian Inn and were very happy with our choice. Clean, quiet, large rooms with ample room for walking our dogs (and we religiously cleaned up after our dogs, as we appreciated the management's opening up extra rooms for dogs than they normally allow to accomodate our group). All ground floor rooms with easy parking for loading and unloading, ample outdoor lighting, and nicely appointed rooms with everything working nicely. The staff was very friendly. It was a very enjoyable week's stay and we would all happily return again to the Frankenmuth Motel.

The ceiling fan in the bathroom was loud, the air conditioner rattled and everything looks a little dated BUT it was clean, the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. If I was paying top dollar I would have been annoyed, but for the price range it was a decent value and a great stay. Breakfast also included!

Reviewed By L5882ZSjennifermThe first thing I noticed was the clean smell in the lobby. Rooms were clean. Showers had great water pressure and hot water. Toilets are low which may be a problem for those with knee/hip problems. Beds were high and comfortable. Good variety of options for breakfast.

Reviewed By hypertyperPros: Comfortable bed. Good breakfast selection. Everything looked clean. Second floor window opened to let in fresh air. Cons: Pillows were the lumpiest I have ever seen, like they were stuffed with pieces of loose foam. The pool was way TOO cold. The hot tub was way TOO HOT. There was someone smoking on our floor. We could smell it in the hallway but not the room, but we had the window open for fresh air.

Clean, Good Condition, Comfortable Bed
Reviewed By David DThe Good: Exceptional considering the price. Our room was at the far back side so we had no road noise even though the motel is on a very busy street. Everything was in good condition, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Frig, microwave oven, hair dryer, ironing board and iron (really, does anyone do that any more), luggage rack, free Wifi, good TV signal, 2 night stands, 2 side chairs plus a desk chair, large desk area, shower head with nice spray, AC. The not so good: AC was a bit on the noisy side, but my wife and I had no trouble sleeping and at least it was placed so the cold air was not blowing directly on you; WiFi speed was only 3 Mbps but we were able to stream Hulu without any trouble; breakfast was not provided; there was the tiniest hint of a musty smell - my wife noticed it but I did not.

Reviewed By Mary BIt was okay, it was clean. It was a little small but for the price we cannot complain. We did not spend much time in the room anyway. The bed was wonderful. There isn’t a tub just a shower. So we would stay there again.

Smelly, dirty, awful
Reviewed By Susan SWe only needed the motel for 1 night, we needed 3 rooms as we were in town for a family function. We were traveling from Pittsburgh. It was the worst experience I have ever had in all my years of traveling. You get what you pay for. If my children were with me, they never would have stepped foot in the room. It smelled like stale cigarettes. My throat hurt and my nose was runny the entire 6 hours were spent in the room. We checked in, stayed a few minutes and left to go to the family function. We got back around 11 PM and checked out by 6 AM the next morning. It was really bad and I would not recommend it. I think the rooms were unhealthy to be in. There was no heat nor air conditioning. It did not feel like a safe area to be in.

Reviewed By EtzellaThe motel is a throwback. The room with a king size bed had a pillow top mattress, fridge and microwave.No issues with the shower or sink draining. Room was clean. Did not try to access the internet, so don't know how well it worked. Parking is limited to one space per room. Breakfast was very limited, but there are fast food restaurants nearby. Was not thrilled with a soap/shampoo dispenser. Suggest bringing your own. Very good value!

Reviewed By kathrynpN5357ZUWhat an unexpected surprise. Reviews are on point. Older motel on the outside but super clean on the inside. I was impressed, especially since the last hotel we stayed was twice as much and falling apart. Room has everything you need, shampoo, soaps, hairdryer, fridge and microwave. Owners were very nice and helpful, nice ice and soda machine, simple snacks for breakfast grab and go, Tim Hortons next door. I say definitely bang for the buck! Happy Travels!
