The newly reconstructed 4* hotel is located on the south slope of Pancir, at the altitude of 1,100 m in the Sumava protected natural zone. Fantastic New Year Party
Reviewed By R5832EOtracynWe stayed at the wonderful Horizont last week and were lucky enough to spend New Years Eve there and join there Gala Evening which was absolutely first class (more of that later). The hotel is located in the beautiful Sumova region and is surrounded by amazing views of both Czech Republic and Germany with many Ski resorts scattered around. Check in was effortless and fast (we had to show our vaccination certificates). The receptionist (Daniella) was really professional and efficient but really friendly too which is a quality you seldom see in luxury hotels. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated with a pull out bed made for our daughter and a very modern bathroom with quality fittings and a rain shower. We opted for the hotel buffet dinner every day and were very impressed by the range of items and the freshness of the food (chefs were constantly refreshing the buffet). Drinks were waiter served (Jakub) and he could not have been more friendly and attentive. Breakfasts were just as good but with the added Coffee Barista who prepared perfect coffees to order (Flat white was amazing). The New Years Eve Gala was fantastic with a live band and DJ plus a non stop buffet of wonderful food including a Sushi Bar and Steak Tartar (and unlimited wines). All in all we had a wonderful holiday with impeccable service. Thank you Horizont.

Reviewed By GajdikThis hotel is very well located, in the middle of Sumava with breathtaking views of Velky Javor (Grosser Arber). Professional and very nice, friendly staff, The food on buffet in the morning and in the evening is tasty and wide range of choices for kids, vegetarians as well as for those who like meat and Czech cuisine. We liked the coffee service in the morning (made by the barista, not of standard coffee machine, but perfect espresso). Cosy and comfortable rooms, clean, modern equipment. Very good Wi-Fi. We liked the robot serving drinks and food in the lobby bar, very innovative :)

Easily accessible are the peaks of Pancíř, Ostrý and Gross Arber, as well as five ofthe eight glacial lakes found in the Šumava. All rooms are equipped with a satellite TV, a telephone, a bathroom with shower and a toilet. Hotel has barrier-free entrance. Hotel facilities: restaurant, lobby bar, meeting rooms, car park, sauna, fitness and exterior children’s play park. Hotel services: bike and ski hire, skiing school, children’s ski lift. Our guests are welcome to use the swimming pool of the partner Orea Resort Horizont (800m). In winter, the visitor will enjoy nearby skiing slopes with ski tows and well-kept cross-country skiing tracks. The hotel is an ideal destination for relaxation, families with children and tourism all year round.
Old and uncomfortable mattress
Reviewed By alevtinka_yaThis place has its pluses and minuses: Minuses: 1 - Horrible mattress. It is very old (20-30 years?). I could feel springs pointing at my spine.There is no mattress cover. So between you and the springs there is only a thin bedsheet. 2 - Location (Unless you came for skiing or have a car). There are not so many options to eat around. Železna Ruda town with more variety of restaurants and coffee shops is about 1 hour away by walking down the hill (and then back up). 3 - No hairdryers in the room, but also you cannot borrow it from the reception. In all 3 star hotels I’ve been before they offer a hairdryer to borrow at reception. 4 - In the restaurant area there is no hand sanitizer in dispenser and no soap in the toilet either. Two times I went for breakfast and wanted to use it and both times it was empty. 5 - Old Soviet building inside with minor renovations. Feels like in an old Soviet sanatorium. 6 - Even though it says in description of the hotel that it has soundproof rooms…. How soundproof rooms can be in an old panel building? If the dog is barking next door , child crying or someone is watching a TV - you will hear it well. 7 - wifi connection is not very reliable (I was on the third floor) and kept dropping. Pluses: 1 - I asked for extra blankets to cover the mattress at reception and a lady provided it to me. 2 - Even though this “3 star hotel” fails to provide any hairdryers to guests, girls at reception said I could use the one and only hairdryer in the building mounted to the wall in sauna (however, as this sauna is often booked for private use, I am not sure how people who booked would react when you interrupt their privacy). 3 - Location would be perfect when you come for skiing 4 - Rooms and bathroom were clean and tidy, when we came. There is also soap and shower gel in the rooms. 5 - Sauna in sister orea hotel horizont available to guests from orea hotel špičak in certain timeslots without additional charge 6 - Breakfast buffet is included in the price of the room Overall, don’t expect comfort of a real three star hotel. This hotel offers just the standard basics.

Best pension in town
Reviewed By YvonneMoscowIn the past we spent quite some nights at this friendly pension. Now back in CR for a short holiday we spent one night here. Parking in front of building. Room was not very big.There is a door between the hallway and the room which I like very much. Large tv. Room had shutters, so could be made very dark. I can definitely recommend a visit to Cafe Charlotte where they have delicious cakes.

Levné ubytování v Železné Rudě nacházející se v těsné blízkosti u lyžařského vleku Belveder. V hodné ubytování pro mladé páry, rodiny s dětmi ale i pro firemní akce, či narozeninové oslavy díky krytému přístřešku a sezení pro cca 15 osob s možností grilování. Kapacita ubytování je 20 osob a v roce 2019 prošla chata kompletní rekonstrukcí.
Že cenu je to přijatelné ubytování.
Reviewed By terezanebodavidKdyž porovnám cenu a kvalitu, tak je to ok. Na přespání je to optimální levná volba. Nicméně jsme měli jeden polštář s plísňí a když jsem viděla pračku, která doprala a celou noc nebyla vyklizená, bylo mi jasné proč. Polštář s plísní nás nechal pochybovat o čistotě penzionu a noc už nebyla tak příjemná. I tak ale doporučuji všem, co se chtějí v Železné Rudě jen usadit na jednu noc.

Reviewed By Tyna1982One of the best holidays we have had in years! ??We stayed there for a week. We had 2studios connected with a door as we are family of four. Both rooms were clean and the view was breathtaking. The inside and outside play areas for kids were spot on. The outside heated pool was a bit small but it did not bother us at all. The food was great. We had breakfast included in price. Also there was only a self-serviced bar offering all kinds of beverages open during the daytime - with a decent white wine, beer and lemonade available on drought- evening meals you needed to order in advance in the morning the latest but we did not mind that at all. If you fancied nicer bottle of wine or a cup of coffee you could always order that before the staff went home. There is well equipped kitchenette with a fridge and microwave in each room anyway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back there soon??

Reviewed By JanHoudek6I guess that this hotel is little bit old but very clean and personal is very very nice and professional didn't have any problem even when I asked for vegetarian and vegan food owner of the restaurant is the chef so I would say WOW! We definitely come back one minus what I think is not ok that you have to pay for parking:( But other things are very good!
