The flight I had actually arrived early and the hotel staff ever so graciously allowed me to check-in 3 hours early! The room was clean, staff was nice, and breakfast was good (coffee downstairs tasted good!)

Horrible visit
Reviewed By dianebE8411FNWhen we got to the hotel there were many people waiting for their rooms to ready, this was an hour after check in times. When we got to our room, the door was open, a pop bottle was laying right in the walk way into the room and the beds weren't made. We went to the front desk, waited for a few minutes for a worker to let her know, said that we would be back since we had our daughters college graduation to attend. When we got back to the hotel later that night no worker was to be seen. Get into the room and the floors were nasty and sticky~my husband cleaned it up some with a wet towel. Breakfast was very limited with what was available for food. They ran out of milk and had to go to the store to buy more. Workers were very scarce, when checking out we couldn't since nobody was at the front desk. The garbage can by the front entrance was over filled and we couldn't even throw away our few items. Highly recommend NOT staying at this location.

Convenient, clean, friendly, good value
Reviewed By nmhoosierThis Comfort Inn is not in a beautiful area, sandwiched between a car dealership and a car wash. But we found it to be clean and well maintained. After some hiccups at check-in (the nice young man at check-in could not figure out how to get us a senior rate, so I made my reservation with my phone, standing at the front desk), we had a very good experience. The motel is nice inside, clean, and they had perhaps the best covid protocols we experienced on our week-long trip. Their indoor pool was nice, well stocked with towels, and warm enough for me to use, in contrast to many others we have experienced. Our room was very good and, although not new, it was definitely clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were pleasant and efficient, and they organized a good breakfast. The Southtown Bar and Restaurant on the other side of the car dealer is a good place for supper, within walking distance if you're young. We would definitely stay here again.

Needs maintenance badly!
Reviewed By Kathy SWe reserved a king size bed with jetted tub for $254.00 for one night. There were many maintenance issues: toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, caulking around the tub looked like a 3 year old did it, the facing on the tub was pulled away like they had worked on it and forgot to put it back, there had been a repair to the jetted tub wall and it looked like a 3 year old did it too, the sheets on the bed wouldn't stay on (too small or shrank), no one could see the tv in the sitting area without moving the sofa and chair, and I never can understand why the darkening drapes are pulled to one side in the other windows except the one in the bedroom, where it pulls together in the middle and they never stay together, so the sun shines in where there's a space in the middle.

Stay nice enough, problem after stay
Reviewed By jacatesWe stopped in Waterloo on our drive to our family vacation in Montana. The hotel was nice enough, the lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. When we got to our next stop and my husband opened his suitcase he realized he had left his bathroom bag hanging in the bathroom in Waterloo. He called the next morning to have them overnight the bag at our expense to our Airbnb in Montana and was clear that we would be leaving there Wednesday morning. By Tuesday the bag hadn’t shown up so he called to get a tracking number which wasn’t showing up in the UPS tracking system. I called the Waterloo Fairfield to find out when it was shipped and to make sure it was overnighted. They didn’t send it until Monday AND they sent it ground rather than overnight, so for $27 and some change plus $4.99 for a shipping box he still doesn’t have his bag and since it isn’t showing in the UPS system we can’t even have UPS reroute it yet to meet us at home. Not even an apology from the person on the phone, complete incompetence from the hotel staff in my opinion.

We had rooms without AC, broken TV's, and tubs that did not drain. The breakfast tables were sticky and the food selection was minimal. Hey, at least they were not openly selling drugs from the parking lot all night long, like some other budget hotels in Waterloo.

The Price Is NOT Right
Reviewed By Deb SThe front desk had 3 people behind but only two were working and only one of them seemed to know how to do anything. That may have added to her snarky attitude. The room was nice and very large but they need to vacuum under the beds once in a while and clean the air return vent in the bathroom. Also, pillows that aren’t so broken down it seems there are 3 pieces to them would be a plus. Our room was not cleaned after the 1st night and when called down the response was more or less “oops”. You can hear everything from the room next door and it’s no use to complain about a loud TV at 3:30 am or screaming kids (might have been a cat) at 5 am. In addition to the ridiculous resort fees, you have to pay a $50 deposit even if you prepay the room. It takes 7 - 10 days to get it back. I could not get a receipt because I booked through Expedia, I booked through hotels.com and the, not surprising, snarky clerk said “same thing”. Whatever you do, don’t expect breakfast after 10 am on a Sunday. This place was a huge disappointment and we will not stay here again.

A pretty good deal
Reviewed By williamkZ8902WKI was in town during the Irish Fest celebration, when rooms are hard to find, and REALLY expensive. I got a 2 bed room for about $70 per night. Everything was clean, and there was a nice small pool near the lobby. Service was very good and helpful. I thought it was a bargain, and would definitely stay again.

Good Location and excellent customer service
Reviewed By 496jeannettesWe were here for a wrestling tournament. The customer service was excellent and they worked hard to keep the place clean. We did not need to stay the third night and they did not charge for it. This would not been my first choice, but most hotels were booked. I am glad I booked here. The location was right off the highway and plenty of fast food restaurants within walking distance. If you like a bar and grill check out the screaming eagle in downtown waterloo FYI no elevator. This is an older hotel, but they make it work
