Comfortable, Convenient, Friendly, Great Service
Reviewed By judythrWe stayed for 6 nights. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Juan even helped us carry our kayak down to the lake. We met some lovely guests. The room was huge. We enjoyed watching movies hooking up our computer to the TV. This is a family environment and they go out of their way to make you welcome. Clean, comfortable. Just a few small details: Wish they served fresh, rather than canned, fruit at breakfast (but fresh produce seems hard to come by in Villa Pehuenia). Our room was 105 and had a very tree-filtered lake view. 107 looked better and perhaps some other rooms as well. We left a day early because we needed to do Skype appointments and the WIFI in Villa Pehuenia is not good.

Reviewed By BellaGesellThe location is superb: cottages in the midst of the woods with view of the lake, easy access from the main road. Very comfortable, neat and tidy lodgings, well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Huge windows to enjoy the view; patio door to outdoor seating area and bbq. Parking is right by front door. WIFI is exceptionally good for the region. We visited in summer, it was quite hot outside during the day but inside the cabin it was cool and comfortable. The night was quite cool but the cabin was warm without heating it, quite amazing! There is beach access to Lake Moquehue and kayaks for paddling around the lake. The service personnel is friendly, attentive and responsive. Helena and Leo, the hosts, are kind, friendly and helpful; they go out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast is brought to the cabin and includes a good variety of breads, cake and jams. We had dinner at the “Sobre el Agua” restaurant, trout and beef tenderloin both perfectly cooked and delicious. Leo is also the chef. An excellent place to relax and contemplate nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would certainly wish to visit again.

The cabins are highly rated, are located on the shores of Lake Aluminé steps from a private beach of 150 meters and surrounded by native forest, 3 km from the mall. All our cabins are the same size, have the same quality in both equipment and decoration, and overlooking the lake and the mountains from every room. Maximum Capacity: 5 people. Ground floor: Double room with king-size mattress, ensuite bathroom with double access and extensive spa bath of 1.60 meters, cozy living room with 32 "LCD TV, DirecTV, full kitchen with refrigerator and microwave system to the dining room . Upstairs: with two box springs and half square and an optional third. (The box springs can be joined to form a king size bed) All sommiers have cotton sheets 250 thread. Heating is by wood stove slow combustion gas heaters, the bathroom has been warmed with a heating pad.

Reviewed By CookieCanoeskiWe stayed here for a week in early November. Had I written a review at the beginning of our stay it may have skewed negative, but by the end i did not want to leave. Springtime in Northern Patagonia is amazingly beautiful and we feasted our eyes on it from our cabańa. Cabana 3 is like a 1 bedroom upstairs efficiency with dorm-sized appliances, adequate but outdated. The heat is difficult to control. Instructions are paltry and in Spanish only. Enough room for 2 people to be comfortable but gets crowded quickly. Enough hot water for 1 shower. Our lack of Spanish made it difficult to communicate with the staff, especially at first. There is WiFi in the main building only, and the cabanas are a steep uphill walk, and the main building is closed until 9am. We did not spend much time there. But the view of Lago Aluminé from the bedroom and the balcony were enough to erase such complaints. We would sit blissfully on the balcony with coffee in the morning or wine in the evening, listening to the birds and watching the water, clouds, mountains, and sky. Forget the picture of the pool. Puerto Malen is situated in a peaceful part of a very special place. After figuring out the routine and finding some front desk people with English we were very happy with the Club de Montana. I got the impression it was early in the season and things might be different in summer. The hotel dog adopted and shepherded us around the property. We only found a couple of the lovely walks to be taken there. Did I mention the birds?
