Charming and comfortable

Visiting the Dong villages in the ChengYang scenic area was my favorite part of my trip to Guangxi, and the Dong Village Hotel was a great place to stay, as it has great views and is just a short walk to the famous Wind & Rain bridge and Ma'an village. Before my arrival, I was in communication with the owner Michael, who helped arrange a ride from Sanjiang Nan train station for 100 rmb. Michael was a great host and was very helpful throughout my whole stay. The hotel provides delicious and reasonably priced meals (make sure you order before sundown before things seem to shut down in the area), and has cold water/beer when you need it. The hotel is built in the local wooden Dong style, which is very charming, though be aware that the floor creaks loudly every time you step. The air conditioning and wifi worked well, and the balcony provided a great view across the fields. Overall, I'd be happy to stay again if I ever return to ChengYang. Just a note to those heading back to Sanjiang by bus: To get to the public bus, you need to cross the bridge next to the hotel and take a right. From there, it's a good 20-30 minute walk all the way to the MAIN ROAD, where buses will pick you up. It's not especially fun dragging your luggage in the rain and 90+% July humidity, but just keep walking until you get to the main road.

Situated in Chengyang Village in Sanjiang, Liuzhou, Lost World Sanjiang Guest House sits on renovated 150 years old stilted wood house. With an aim to protect the disappearing traditional houses, architect Ian of Secret Garden Yangshuo designed comfortable rooms and restaurant/bar. All rooms come with en suite 24 hot water shower & western toilet. Well chosen mattresses give you a comfortable sleeping experience. Electric kettle and free tea & coffee are available in all rooms. Comfortable sofas and balconies (in most rooms) give you relaxing moments either watching the village life or reading a book. Most of the furniture was made by the ingenious local carpenters who made the Drum Towers & Wind Rain bridges. Chengyang Village is inhabited by the ethnic Dong people, famous for their carpentry (Wind Rain Bridge & Drum towers) and their unique singing. The local lifestyle is slow and easy with many local festivals.
A magical holiday home
Reviewed By RonaldYangshuoWe stayed at the Deluxe Family Suite, which actually is a 2 story, private little house overlooking the rice fields and the village. It's a beautiful designed place and we fell in love with it instantly! Great eye for comfort: - The bed was hands down the most comfortable bed we had slept in in a long time; - The shower is spacious, great water pressure and nice wooden board to stand on; - A massive covered terrace with comfy chairs and even a reading/relax seat. - Fridge, sofa, bath tub. Detail: - The nice local artworks on the wall; - The overall traditional design and woodwork. And service: Xiao Chen is the lady who takes care of everything: - She met us when we got off the park-bus and guided us to the hotel; - Great source of information about the area; - A big bonus was the fact that dinner was served every night at our own covered terrace at the room! We love to get back here again to sit on the lovely terrace and wonder around the beautiful area.

Great option in a small village.
Reviewed By SunnyandBusterWe had a wonderful welcome here at the Longfeng. Really friendly people. You have to carry/pull your luggage through the village but they are located close to the entrance. The walls and floors are thin so you will likely hear noise from other guests and our room was over the alley which was quiet during the night but noisy otherwise. There are lots of stairs. This is all normal for a village accommodation and we were pleased overall. Be sure to eat here as they put out wonderful dishes! The Chinese dishes were great and we ended dinner with a thick crepe with butter and strawberry jam. They will make a western style breakfast if you ask. That can be a nice change of pace now and again!

Reviewed By tanarieまず、カテゴリーがB&B/インになっていますが、普通のホテルです。外観はトン族の建築を彷彿させる雰囲気で趣があります。部屋は広く、リバービューにしたため窓が大きかったです。バスルームは使い勝手は悪くないものの、少し下水のような臭いが。路線バスやタクシーが拾える広場（三江鼓楼があるところ）まで徒歩数分ですが、急な登坂です。フロントは英語不可。近くにショッピングセンター（大潤発購物広場）あり。

Poor cleaning but central location
Reviewed By louiseoekWe stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is fine but the cleaning and room service was pretty bad. We found cigarettes under one of our beds and one night we found 2 cockroaches. The hotel is located pretty central in the town which is a bonus.

top simplicity
Reviewed By cees3105Being a retired Dutch married couple, worked, lived and traveled in China as of 2002, we've come to visit the Dong minority area for the first time. Real country side and beautiful scenery all around the city of Sanjiang. The city itself wasn't very spectacular to us, but perhaps dor people who come to China dor the very dirst time it could be. The hotel is 3 star rated, but failed to match that quality by far. The persons at the reception desk cannot speak or understand English at all, which (to our opinion) should be, if it is 3 star rated. If lesser rated, we should've accepted that it's part of the fact, that we (as Europeans) are visiting China. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpfull. The so called werstern breakfast should be seen as a friendly gesture to make us feel comfortable. At least there was coffee! It wasn't easy to get our laundry arranged, but we managed. Everything is a bit worn out, just like the computer I'm typing this on, but it worked for us. We had a standard room on the 5th floor, which had enough space, but the shower curtain was really filty at the bottom and way too short. During a shower the bathroom got totally flooded, which isn't really comfortable. Internet and computer is available in some rooms and guests should apply for such service during making a reservation. According to our personal tourguide, it's the best hotel one can get in Sanjiang, but we were not able to verify that statement.

Cocina correcta, desayuno simple. en recepción no sabían los horarios del comedor, había otros clientes quejándose por problemas en la habitración
