Excellent property, best of breakfasts, easy location
Reviewed By Ron HStayed here for 2 nights while in Johannesburg. We were originally on the 11th floor but moved to 19th right away due to music or loud noise from a neighbor. They were very good about moving us immediately. Room's were identical and both very nice and well equipped with electric outlets for US, EU, S.Africa and USB's, coffee and whatever is needed. Breakfast buffet was outstanding, menu of cooked items, must be among the best. Nicest part was the staff who let me keep the room until 3 as my flight was not until that evening. That made it much easier for us to visit the mall and return to the room and seemed very nice and respectful. Hotel can be loud in the atrium and when the door was opened but it must be well sound proofed as we did not hear if from the room. Suggest requesting a higher room though as it may be quieter.

Good hotel but great gym
Reviewed By jonnyb205The hotel itself is ok, staff are attentive and helpful. The rooms are a little dated but the best thing about the hotel is by far the gym. The gym is split across three levels, has a 25m swimming pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi etc. Would definitely recommend for anyone on business that wants a good room with very good workout facilities.

Reviewed By ImpactmobileAfter travelling for a day and a half both mornings I was woken at 7:30 by drilling throughout the building and the second by the staff that spoke so loud in Thall it was if they were having a personal party. The bright this to the attention of the management and beyond being apologetic nothing was done.

Rooms are well sized and very comfortable and the breakfast is always amazing. Every staff member is always happy so it seems a great place to work, which means I am well looked after as a guest.

Reviewed By Trevor CGreat hotel. From the beautiful reception and lounge area to the magnificent rooms, we were impressed on arrival. The open plan bathroom might not be to everyone's taste. Breakfast was extensive and well laid out. Shuttle service was fantastic and efficient. Didn't try the spa. Pool area was lovely always in the sun. Great food in the restaurant, had the sharing platter, highly recommended! We stayed in a room on the top floor overlooking the front with a balcony . All in all a great experience

Palazzo hotel anything but a five star experience !
Reviewed By Nalini GTerrible service…booked two rooms with family. We had bought food from a nearby well known resturant and looked forward to eating in our rooms. We called room service and asked for plates and cutlery and then the drama began… we told hotel policy is not give guests any plates cutlery etc unless ordered from room service ( which ends at 10pm). I enquired from “ management” as to why is this not on hotels website or house policies etc as normally hotels usually accomdate guests requests and will give them plates and cutlery etc on request so if guests choose to eat in the comfort fo their room. One person acceded to our request and sent us the cutlety only to have the food and beverages manager call the room and intteroagte us as which employee etc did this . It was terrible . To add insult to the injury the second room On check HAD a huge clump of human hair on the shower floor! Which begs the question of the level of cleanliess. The towel rails were broken off the wall. The toilet roll holder was broken as well . The Palzzo is suppose to be a five star hotel , but it is far from a five star experience . Rooms are in dire need of maintenance . Service is hugely lacking . Especially at management level. There was NO hotel manager or duty manager on duty except the food and beverages manager who was the only person in charge of the entire hotel staff and was clearly out if his depth in resolving guests complaints . Simply not worth the five stars . I was fortunate to be refunded one room and was accomdated at the Four star Sun internationl hotel within the Montecasino Precint. This four star was so worth it and far superiour in service and standards than the Palazzo. This hotel has sadly lost its charm and appeal and i attribute it to poor management , as i have seen over years how the service has detoriated . Simply not worth the price tag!!

Reviewed By VXRThis is a lovely hotel. Rooms are modest size but very well appointed with a comfy bed and good bedlinens. The gym is quality, not massive but the right kit. The breakfast is very good. But the standout for me was the attentive service by staff.

Reviewed By cleveleys55Stayed with my wife on the 27th May 2022 for one night. From arriving to leaving the service from all the staff was great. Room and breakfast also great. It is also a short walk to all the amenities of Monte Casino. Based on our experience we would recommend this hotel.
