Fantastic Stay

Reviewed By Majois

2 adults, 2 kids and our 1 year old springer spaniel recently stayed at lough inagh lodge for 3 nights. Location, scenery, food, facilities and even the weather were all fantastic. One of our kids has severe allergies which is always a challenge when dining out. The attention paid to his dietary needs was fantastic. The front of house staff and kitchen staff all went out of their way to ensure that he thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. We have very fond memories of staying at lough inagh over 20 years ago and were a bit worried that it might not live up expectations. Having revisited 20 years later with 2 kids and a very lively dog in tow I have to say those fears were unfounded. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay and for helping create great memories for out kids. Dominic directed us to the most fantastic beach we've ever seen. Maura was wonderfully helpful and accommodating and Thomas ( behind the bar) made sure that we were very well looked after and entertained. Fantastic all round. We won't wait 20 years for the next visit. Tom

Where do I start, staff from the minute we arrive greeted by Chris the porter put us a ease straight away areal welcome , beautiful hotel walks food relaxation at its best , it’s a place where you just forget the worries and switch off clean, all amenities required are catered for. You can fish , walk, clay shoot, read wine and dine and never have to step foot out side of the hotel as everything you require is here. The walled garden has been beautifully redone to its former glory and to see the fruit and vegetables growing and on your dinner and breakfast menu is amazing.. Eoin the manager and Eoghan the waiter have a coolness in the restaurant just calm going about their work but effectively catering for all requests and demands from guests (and they do get outrageous demands we over heard some) I’ll finish by saying stay here enhance the beauty of the building, facilities and the nature surrounding this little gem .. enjoy because we totally did and appreciate all the staff are doing here from kathleen at reception to the grounds people, a team effort can be seen Thank you

I stayed at The Connemara Country Cottages for a week in August of 2019. There were three couples and we used the Cottage as a base for exploring County Galway. We drove to the Ferry and visited the Aran Islands, spent a day in Galway City, loved Skeffington's and the Free Walking Tour, walked around Oughterard and ate at some of the restaurants, all good. Went to a Castle and had dinner and a show. We also visited the Cliffs of Moher. The Cottage we stayed in was clean and comfortable. Pauline was really nice and helpful. Being out in the Irish Countryside was a dream come true for me. I saw many rainbows and the sheep were frolicking in the lane.

The best staff!

Stayed for 2 nights in a dorm. The new kitchen is fantastic, the rooms are very basic but ok, shower was cold when we tried it but it's big. No internet! The best part was the very friendly and welcoming volunteers, we had a great time!

Functional hostel with beautiful view

Reviewed By DahveedL

This is a back to basics hostel and is purely functional. It is ideal if you have been walking in the surrounding mountains and want somewhere cheap to sleep and cook your meals. So in other words it is in the middle of nowhere and is more of a rival to camping than a comfortable night in a hotel. To be fair though it has a nice fire, a few books, a pool table for entertainment and a welcoming and helpful owner. It is not cozy by any stretch of the imagination and is purely functional and good value.
