Convenient hotel in centre of calafate
Reviewed By fandd69We stayed here on 3 different occasions for overnight. The first day we arrived we had to wait for our room, however the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is a bit dated, the spa facilities were not too clean. it is in the centre of calafate and Rooms are comfortable and clean. I wouldn’t rate it as a 4 star hotel rather a decent 3 star.

Dogs barking all night!
Reviewed By WorldlyTraveler56We stayed at this property for three nights. The convenience of staying downtown did not outway the terrible room!!! There is no air-conditioning so we needed the windows open in order to sleep. The view from the window was rundown homes with five dogs barking ALL NIGHT. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Reviewed By Amy DWe stayed at this hostel for 3 nights while in El Calafate and we didn’t want to leave, it was easily one of the best hostels we stayed in while travelling around South America. The place has such a lovely vibe whether you are travelling solo or as a group. Great common area to socialise in, lots of young people, other travellers and staff are super friendly. The panoramic views from the common area and garden are amazing especially when the weather is nice. The BBQ was also so delicious (the best lamb we tried in Patagonia) and felt like we were in a top rated restaurant rather than a hostel! Reviewed By clared287The deluxe rooms at the back are stylish, roomy and beautifully done. The bed is huge and comfortable, lovely toiletries, including bath salts for tired limbs, a little private garden to sit out in and a sofa too. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit and freshly made eggs. The staff were very helpful and packed lunches were very good. It is perfectly situated in the centre of town. Really lovely hotel.

Very close to the start of both hiking trails
Reviewed By JollyshandyThe hostel is a bit of a walk from the bus station, but very near to the start of the two hiking trails (Cerro Torre and Laguna de Los Tres). It has clean beds, clean rooms and good paid breakfasts. Anna from the front desk is always friendly and helpful. I always consult her on the best time to do the sunrise hike, doable daily hikes etc and she always gave me good advice, and I got good sunrise pictures thanks to her. Breakfasts are not included, but the paid breakfasts have big portion and quite tasty. After I took their breakfasts, I had enough energy to do the long day hikes. Dinner portion is huge too, and the restaurants get pretty busy from 630pm onwards. There is a live TV in the dining hall that shows the real time condition of De Los Tres, which is pretty cool. The exchange rate offered for USD is competitive, I made the mistake of exchanging my money in EZE airport Banco De Nation, and got less than favourable exchange rate. There is no need to. Just change here will do. If you are doing longer hikes like the Huemel Circuit, you can stick an invitation near the reception to gather more trekkers if you prefer a bigger crowd. The reception can also help you arrange for remis to Hostel El Pillar or other areas. There are supermarkets, equiupment rental shops, waffles joint nearby, all walkable distance. There are also trucks selling super sweet cheeries along the road nearby, i bought a kilo after tasting them, so sweet. I like this hostel, and will probably return next time.

The home away from home
Reviewed By helmutb132I don't know where to begin, but in retrospect this was the best hotel on our 20 day long trip. We stayed in NH hitels in BA and others in El Chalten and Iguazu, but LindaVista was the best! I had booked 7 days in advance and it was high season (january 2022), so, initially I was glad to have anything at all. After some finetuning of our itriniary, I asked for these 7 days to be split som we can spend two nights in El Chalten. This was granted without further problems. To the facts: The apartments are located in a few houses made of local wood. Solid and with a very warm feeling. They are large (!) and can easily accomodate 5 people. We had some very cold days but the heating was perfect! The whole place is run by a Korean family - and with allmost all family bussiness' they have their heart in it. They are very friendly, flexible and really want you to feel at home. The hotel is located close to the main street, but far enough to be quiete adn close to the lake. Everything can be reached in walking distance, and it is still very secluded. Which brings me to my statement: When we returned from El Chalten (Piedras de Patagonia: Loud, cold and small) for two more nights, it really felt like coming home again. For me, the only reason to come back to Argentinia, is Patagonia. I would defintely stay once more in the Lindavista hotel m, I would visit El chalten again, and than I would drive further south and east. Great service, centrally located but quiet
Reviewed By CoelhatorStayed here a couple of nights and it felt like home. Lionel in reception was a great host and made sure that all our needs were attended to. Its a small hotel with a very nice restaurant where breakfast is served to the hotel guests but then later is open to general public for lunch, tea time and dinner. The rooms, on two levels, all open onto a well maintained, grassy and shady rear courtyard that has benches and picnic tables. The rooms are tastefully decorated with simple furniture. The washrooms have abundant warm water and are in good condition. Cleanliness was very good. There's no TV's in the rooms but you can stay home if you want to watch TV. There is a TV though (if you must) in a common room. The Wifi signal doesn't extend to all the rooms but in some and in the common room and main building, and the speed is also very good. The quiet location is very close to the center with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.
