Fantastic Stay, perfect for families

Reviewed By CaitlinJ555

We stayed here in May 2022, which is the low season for the hotel, so it was very quiet. We were upgraded on arrival from a 1br to a 2 br appartment which was spotlessly clean and well equipped with a shower over the bath, oven, hobs, kettle and full size fridge freezer. The staff: The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The bar staff are really knowledgeable and all staff speak at least basic English. The animation team are lovely and really friendly. The facilities: The facilities were good, the inside pool is huge and heated and has a jacuzzi. The spa facilities are lovely and the massages are brilliant and very reasonably priced. The outdoor pools aren’t heated so are quite cold when the weather isn’t super hot. It’s worth noting that in the down season only 1 of the 3 outdoor pool areas is open. The occupation of the hotel was so low that the pool was never crowded though. The water park also isn’t open in the low season. The kids club is really great, it has a mini soft play area, loads of toys and drawing materials. The kids club is best for under 10s I would say. There’s also an outdoor play park with swings etc which was great for a run around. The food and drink: The drinks availability is great, there’s several bars and all the usual spirits are included in the all inclusive as well as several cocktails, wines, beer and soft drinks. The pool bar is very easy to access. The all inclusive food is good, breakfast is great, but if you want a cooked breakfast it’s worth going down before 10 as it stops being replenished at 10. The rest of the food is good, there’s generally lots of options and almost everything I ate I really enjoyed. There’s generally 1 fish option, 1 chicken, 1 beef and 1 pork, pasta, pizza lots of hot side dishes and really wide array of salad. Even fussy eaters are accommodated. Location: The private beach is literally at the bottom of the resort and kept spotlessly clean and is all sand with no pebbles. The locale is very quiet, great for families. There aren’t many bars within walking distance. There’s local convenience shops within a 10 min walk and limited restaurants. Central pomorie is around 30-40 min walk. There’s a bus stop directly outside the hotel which serves Burgas (a really lovely vibrant city), sunny beach, nessebar ect. It’s only 4 lev each way. Taxis are also very reasonable, the hotel can arrange them for you, expect around 40 lev each way for Burgas. Lots of beautiful seafront walks around the hotel. Overall we had an absolutely brilliant stay. The staff are a credit to the hotel and the facilities are great. We would love to come back soon.

Totally renovated apartments on the beach in an eco protected area - shallow sea, nice pool, tasty food, healing mud

Reviewed By Anna K

This was my second stay in Gardenia. I was good surprised with the fully refurbished 2-bedroom apartments. The biggest PLUS are two balconies - one facing to the sea and another one - to the lake. Amazing panorama views!!! Especially the sunsets!!! Unforgettable! Yes, spiders, small day flies, but you are in the real nature - between the salt lake and the sea. The location is one of a kind. It is really nice place for the nature lovers. When the road finishes, it starts a kilometers long sand stripe between the lake and the sea ...you can go walking far away on this path until you reach Akheloy. There is a kilometers long, unsecured large beach with black sand, which is very healing because of saturation with iron oxide. You can go and wrap in the mud and stay so black for 15 mins and after go to the sea and wash yourself in the salt sea water. The place is unique! Here nature has concentrated a great healing power for treatments of musculature disorder. When you decide to go in the busy town center - no problem - you can go walking for up to 15 -20 min. Lots of dining options and supermarkets around. I love the quietness of this place, the warm sea, the truly comfortable self-catering apartments. Will be back in June next year for sure!

We did not stay here, we ate here every night.

We stayed at a different hotel but ate here every night, Food is beautiful, wine exceptional. As we don't speak Bulgarian, we found it difficult to communicate, but there are Waiting staff who speak good English and even though we didn't stay at this Hotel, the waiting staff treated us like guests, especially Svetla, she made us feel welcome and at ease, she explained ingredients in the dishes we ordered and recommended dishes. Most of our stay my Wife ate seafood salad, which she loved. I chose something different each night. The night before we left Svetla booked our table, when we went to eat, Svetla had unfortunate news of her child breaking their arm, so she was unavailable , but after dinner we left her a note and tip to show our appreciation, as she looked after her all week. One downside is food doesn't come out at the same time, it varies as does the rest of the restaurants in Pomorie, you just get used to it.

Lovely hotel with great staff

Reviewed By Chris P

HOTEL Very clean and well looked after hotel in a nice location right next to a beautiful beach, with shops etc. 5 mins down the road. Nice rooms, with a great air con/fan feature (gets very hot so much needed) and lovely views of the beach from balconies. It's literally a few mins walk to the beach and the ocean waves can be heard at night (very peaceful and something I enjoy). Great outdoor pools with kids section and a bigger/deeper sections and upbeat music played from the bar. Nice indoor spa centre with another pool great for getting a few laps in and a gym with a bench, freeweights and an upright multigym if you like to keep in shape and burn off the meals. There's also a pool table, outdoor football court, kid's park, winery, amphitheatre, beautiful gardens for walking around and an old school arcade game room. STAFF Reception desk is very helpful and were very understanding when I accidentally dropped and broke a glass while checking out the gym area within the first hour of arriving. They could have judged me as a typical drunken nuisance but were absolutely fine and even refused my offer to sort the mess out myself, insisting I get back to enjoying my holiday while they took care of it. Bar staff were very polite, friendly and well mannered and their local beer on tap and choice of cocktails, wines and spirits are decent. The "BBQ restaurant" guy was also very happy, fun loving and sociable, happily interacting with guests, making kids laugh etc. FOOD Food is very nice with plenty of choice and is pretty much always available (meats, pastas, potatoes, salads, soups, deli, dessert etc.) Breakfast is 7.30-10.00, lunch 12.30-14.00 and dinner 18.30-21.00 with two snack times (11.00-12.00 and 15.30-16.30) plus a BBQ restaurant next to the outdoor pool that cooks up pizzas, burgers etc. in the afternoon too incase you miss meal times (or just want it all) ENTERTAINMENT The holiday was quiet with not many guests or entertainment... we were ok with this as my 70 year old inlaws were with us and enjoyed the peace and relaxation and our kids are at the "heads in their phones 24/7" phase anyway. There was also a bus stop just around the corner that can get you to the more lively Sunny Beach for just 4 lev (about £2) if we really needed to see/do more. We also learned from speaking to staff that we'd simply arrived a bit too early as their holiday season starts in June, which turned out to be true as literally from the first Friday morning of June, 100s of fresh guests started arriving from morning to night everyday until we were leaving for the airport and new posters began being put up with entertainment schedules for the coming week. So I'm sure the entertainment quickly picked up and it was just our poor timing really, unfortunate but hotel cannot be blamed. NEGATIVES Other than the lack of entertainment, very few negatives at all ... literally just that the "billiards" pool table needs updating (corners of the table come loose and only one cue had a tip, no chalk) and the monitors on the exercise bikes in the gym were broken... but that was it, everything else was great! SUMMARY Lovely hotel with great staff and facilities. For a relaxing break, come before June. For a more lively family holiday, come after the first week of June when their season starts. Go all inclusive, well worth it as food and drink are pretty much never ending. Chris P

A Disgrace

Reviewed By NikolayM917

The hotel and service provided is a gross disgrace to all the guests coming in. To start with the required payment of the total reservation amount upon check-in. Zero anti-Covid measures. Hundreds of spa visitors in a spa center with a capacity for thirty. Room service at exorbitant prices with food served in paper boxes with plastic cutlery an hour after ordering. Extra cold hallways and corridors. Junior suites never renovated. A price list with prices for furniture, bedding and even decorative wallpaper in case you break the table, steal the blankets or ruin the walls. And to get a warm and friendly sense of farewell, you have to wait for an hour to get cleared at check out in a people stuffed lobby. Why? Just because the reception staff and the front-desk manager do not believe what people say they have taken out from the minibar. For every single guest a special investigation is performed. The housekeeping team receives a mobile call to check the minibar usage on site. Laughing. Crying. What a joke. No return at any price.

Nothing to do with the hotel. I apologise if this affects the hotel. I rented a bike for 1hour at 5lev under the hotel, I asked the woman if she could pump the tyres up, she refused and said pick another bike so I did with the most air in the tyres, off I went riding down the front towards burgas. 15mins in and 3miles from the hire shop the back tyre popped. Being 4.15pm now I had to be back for 5pm I started to walk back it took me 55mins meaning it was 5.10 by the time I was back. I asked for my money back she refused. Baring in mind my ride was on very very flat surface, I told her she still refused l. I was annoyed very much so. I got my ID back and walked out.. ✌
