Reviewed By MummaandCoFantastic place, friendly check in, good price, beautiful well equipped bathroom. Complimentary biscuits & bottles of water. The lazy boys were great!! The motel also has a gym. Walking distance to the shops & restaurants. We had two rooms - one was small (but perfectly adequate for two adults) & had an amazing view over the ocean. The other was a good size & had a double in the lounge & two singles in the bedroom. We would definitely stay here again.

Feeling more like a small hotel than a typical motel, Ava Lodge offers twenty thoughtfully detailed suites and apartments, catering to business people and tourists alike. Clean, spacious and modern motel
Reviewed By ashleighwhateverFelt more like a hotel than a motel with a large room and modern decor. The queen suite was huge with a comfortable bed and large TV. The large shower was great and awesome water pressure. Management are very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of parking out the back of the motel which felt very secure. Would happily stay again and hope I do soon! The gorgeous Birman cat saying hi is an added bonus :)

ASURE- Motel Accommodation situated 10 minutes outside the city centre on Petone Beach. InterIsland ferry terminal 10 minutes , Lower Hutt city 5 minutes and Petone's great cafes and restaurants just 5 minutes walk. Modern comfortable cosy rooms some with Harbour views. Good of street parking and handy to trains and buses to the city centre, Tepapa and Stadium. Conference facilities,Free Wifi internet and Great Breakfasts. Hosts Gary and Heather Kingston .

SERVICE: friendly and efficient, good website. ROOM: modern furniture, good bed, tidy. CLEANLINESS: good but wear&tear on walls. BUSINESS: no desk but table, limited power outlets, good Internet. COMFORT: traffic noises during day but ok at night. LOCATION: excellent, close to eateries, train station, walking trails. GUEST TYPE: mostly workers but respectful. *Reviewed Harbour view studio room.

Overpriced, Awful, unclean.
Reviewed By eliseprovisI was booked in for the $139 executive suite, standard studio room. I was put in room 11. Dust, ants, mould on the bathroom door which was not fit for purpose - it was more like a pantry cupboard door. Bathroom sink beside the bed. Tv wouldn’t work, microwave didn’t work either as the cables were broken and wiring exposed. Shower plug blocked so I was basically having a bath by the time I finished showering. Strange service - Very unhelpful when I asked to upgrade my room at my own expense (I was on a work trip). The other people on my business course were booked in for the $159 suites which, for the minimal price difference, was vastly better. It doesn’t make much sense to me how they can charge what they did for the shoebox I was in. Bushes were overgrown outside my window so I couldn’t open my small windows unless I wanted bugs for Africa in my room. I have never stayed in such a bad motel in New Zealand.

Reviewed By ddsmash78Called in at short notice, most places were booked out, had a 3bdrm apartment for 2 of us but we enjoyed our stay, clean & tidy, friendly staff. Could do with some renovations but still comfortable. GREAT shower after a long day on the bike. Close to restaurants etc

Disappointing and old and tired.
Reviewed By Kathryn VWe stayed in Unit 2 being a two-bedroom self-contained unit. It was very old and tired with numerous things either wrong, not provided, or not working. We wrote to the motel advising them of up to 15 things wrong with the accommodation with no reply. At $260 per night, it was too expensive for what was provided. Using Booking.com to reserve, the picture was not where we ended up staying. Very misleading. I have written to the Hospitality Association to find out how a make a complaint, but seem fairly certain this accommodation provider is not associated with any motel or hotel hospitality group.
