Amazing experience

Overall experience exceeded our expectations. Looking at the pictures online we knew this place would be beautiful but being there in person was a whole different (and amazing experience). Rooms and grounds were beautiful but the service was on another level of great.

Wonderful stay at JW Camelback

We had a wonderful extended weekend stay here at the beginning of June. The property is beautiful with tons of onsite amenities. My wife really enjoyed her massage and facial at the spa. The restaurants were all very good and the staff was absolutely wonderful. Tons of restaurants and activities close by makes this a great location.

Hermosa Inn

Ranked among the top hotels in the Southwest, the AAA Four Diamond Hermosa Inn is a jewel of a hideaway surrounded by an exclusive neighborhood in Paradise Valley, and minutes from Scottsdale and its many attractions. Handcrafted in the 1930s by cowboy artist Lon Megargee as his residence and art studio, the Inn's adobe architecture has kept its "authentic Arizona" character and charm. The 43 newly renovated guest casitas are nestled in a garden setting with breathtaking vistas of the lush desert and Camelback Mountain. Accommodations reflect the southwestern design of the original Casa Hermosa (beautiful house) and most include deep soaking tubs, beehive fireplaces and private patios. The culinary centerpiece is LON's at the Hermosa, a AAA Four Diamond restaurant with a Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator serving globally inspired Arizona fare. The restaurant is complemented by a subterranean wine cellar, a celebrated outdoor dining patio, and LON's Last Drop bar.

Meh! Hermosa Inn could do better!

My Boo surprised me with a staycation at the Hermosa Inn for our 10th anniversary. My daughter surprised me for Mother's Day as well so he got her a Garden Casita next to our Deluxe casita. The first thing I noticed when opening the French doors to the nearby jacuzzi was the tall grass. It seemed odd that on Mother's Day weekend the grass was so high thinking surely they should have the grounds groomed for such a busy weekend. The next thing we noticed was the terrible mosquito problem!! Seems keeping the grounds landscaped would have helped a bit with that. We had to call the front desk to have them spray our room there were so many mosquitos. It's amazing to me the amount they charge for these rooms and not follow thru on the landscaping. The next disappointment was the room service. We ordered ice tea for two and received a bottle of WARM tea with two glasses. NO ice. We had to ask the server to please bring us ice. The next thing that seemed off was calling the front desk in the morning asking for cream for our coffee. They replied there's cream in your room but what she was talking about was hand lotion. I guess having stayed in a very nice hotel earlier in the week in Houston where they bent over backwards to tend to their guests was the reason this was so disappointing. Dinner at Lon's was good both nights as well as for lunch. But unfortunately it took much longer than we anticipated to be served. Too be fair it was extremely busy and the wait was worth it. The food was excellent. One person in particular rose to the top in service. Lydia, maybe a GM, I'm not sure, was on top of it. We mentioned to her about the mosquitoes and she gave us some lovely anti bug lotion and told us to keep it. She checked on our table and brought us some extra goodies we needed. We frequent Lon's and will return but I'm not sure about the Hermosa Inn. For the price, they need to step it up!
