An old rectory in a quiet and beautiful place. Organic meals are served. We like self-sufficience: vegetables, fruits, wine, chestnut, bread, jams, pork...and we love our work.
A rural paradise
Reviewed By LizA04Xurxo's home is the most beautiful place and he is a warm and helpful host. We loved the delicious organic fruit and vegetables from the garden and the wonderful home-made bread. We liked the sustainable ethos too. There are excellent walking and biking routes from the door; swimming and kayaking available in the river below; other good places to eat just up the road in Parada and wineries further afield if you want to visit. It was so peaceful, spotless and relaxing. We loved it!

Rude staff in restaurant
Reviewed By bi206We had been recommended this place as a good stop in the Ribeira Sacra. The location is really beautiful, however the dining experience was not. First of all, we asked about eating there, and the waiter told us to order now (at 13.00, a pretty early lunch time in Spain) because it would get really busy later and impossible to eat. We asked if we could book a table for a bit later instead, and he let us do that, though he seemed relunctant. When we came back, it really wasn't as busy as we had been told it would be, though they had already run out of some of the items on the menu. Since there was no hummus, I ordered peppers stuffed with tortilla and my partner ordered burritos, but the waiter brought out the wrong dish. When I asked to get it changed, there was no apology or acknowledgment of making a mistake. Then, my partner noticed that the plate they had given him was dirty and asked to change it (something bad enough in normal times but in the middle of a pandemic, attention to hygiene is even more important). The waiter proceeded to bring out yet another dirty plate. When my partner asked to change it again, the waiter, unbelievably, suggested that he go and argue with the chefs if the next plate he brought out was dirty, because it wasn't his responsiblity to clean the plates! A comment that was so out of place and unprofessional. The whole experience was uncomfortable, and the lack of attention to detail was striking. About the food, the tortilla stuffed peppers were fine. Again, the area is absolutely gorgeous, but if I were to visit again I'd go to a bar up the road or bring a picnic to eat by the river.
