Hotel - location perfect, grounds pleasant, parking good. There is a leak in the ceiling of the bar. Room 104 - wardrobe doors jammed shut, curtain torn, spa bath not working, numerous areas on the wall needed repaires. However, the room was SPOTLESSLY CLEAN - well done the person who cleans up. STAFF - all staff are extremely competent and highly reccommended. RESTAURANT - just excellent - 3 menus - everything we ate was well presented, imaginative recipies, great taste, excellent service. The Chef and the team are excellent. Worth putting up with the room for the quality of the staff and the restaurant.

Having read through some of the reviews I was surprised to see after staying hear that there were some negative reviews including not being worth the trip from the capital....well if you've got to the capital and cannot manage another 30 minute trip out into the mountains then best stay at home and save yourself the trouble of traveling in the first place. Having spent 2 nights here I have to stay I cannot fault it, granted its not got the cosy welcoming fire in the lounge area or a coffee machine in the room but it's spectacular scenery, friendly staff and fabulous food (which was a particular highlight) I loved my stay here....if the hotel can keep the staff and the chef then who needs a roaring log fire....a rare fine that has paid off handsomely!!! A large bouquet of flowers to all the staff....

Nice situation

We stayed there for 3 nights and were booked on half board. In our opinion the food options were not very exciting and the choice is limited. We had a nice room with a small terrace overlooking the valley. The situation is good for hiking and visiting the lakes area. The staff were friendly and helpful. As there were very few visitors at the hotel when we were there we had the spa to ourselves.

Clean, no-frills value.

This is just a pleasant stay. For the money, it can’t be beat. The location is the best in Ordino. The street outside the hotel is blocked off to traffic except for residents and hotel guests. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is an elevator and limited private parking. The room and hotel common spaces were exceptionally clean! We had room 29 which has a balcony and view of the church, square and mountains. Note: the church bell rings at least four times per hour.

My stay together with 20 other Artists from different countries was for 10 days, and I occupied a double room all by myself. The room had a fantastic view of the small town of Ordino down the valley below. The bedroom and especially the bath room were spotlessly cleaned daily and fresh toiletries replenished . The hotel provided a good multiple choice continental breakfast, and in the evenings served a different and fantastic 3 course dinner out of three different choices which we selected before leaving the hotel each morning. The Hotel had a bar where even coffee was served either indoors or out on the porch enjoying the fantastic view of the valley below. The staff were exceptionally helpful and all did their utmost to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it could be. I would not hesitate to reccommend the hotel to anyone seeking a memorable stay in Andorra. I''l close this review by thanking all the staff for their curtesy and help. Anthony Vella - Malta

Quirky old hotel

Reviewed By MrSchnow

The Hotel Antic is a shabby 1970s hotel located on the side of the road running along a river valley. The road is not too noisy/busy and the mountain views are good. There is a free ski bus to/from Arcalis but you really need your own transport since there is nothing else around the hotel. The old Manager claims it’s a “family” hotel which seems her justification to run the hotel for the benefit of the staff rather than the guests. An old dog has free rein so when it’s not laying down blocking the narrow corridors it’s on the only sofa sleeping, farting, snoring or barking. Not aggressive but it is a golden Labrador so it sheds hair continually adding to the overall grubbiness. The Antic has a long maintenance list suggesting years of underinvestment. Inside the bedrooms the furniture and fittings are old and decrepit. Blankets and sheets rather than a duvet cover rock hard mattresses. The sewer smells inside the upstairs corridors make you gag however you get little sympathy from the staff who simply shrug it off as country life in Andorra. The kitchen uses the cheapest and easiest to cook food ingredients. The Long-life bread products taste as stale on the first day as on the last. Few people in my group (53 adults and children) ate much because it was variously undercooked, overcooked or lacked a palatable taste or flavour. The nightly full food waste bin irritated the hotel staff who felt insulted the guests didn’t like their food. After being served sausages Wednesday night we were dismayed to be given the warmed up uneaten sausages again on Thursday. Later that evening we subsequently tried to organise a take-away pizza delivery but the hotel manager got very upset and offered us a nice meal the following night to make up for the sausages. We had no idea. The pièce de résistance was euphemistically called “burger and chips”. It consisted of a pink-grey slab of mechanically recovered meat by-product lurking in a bun and accompanied by a small packet of discount store crisps. (No deep fat fryer = no chips.) The vegetarians had a special treat too, a gruesome chickpea stew alternative. The less said about this the better. As we were preparing to leave (escape?) the hotel supervisor had a random and inexplicable rant about our group having “no respect for the rights of workers” before running off in tears into the kitchen. (Not eating up all their lovingly prepared food perhaps? Who would know?) The spectre of the Hotel Antic remained with us all the way home since a number in our party succumbed to a bout of sickness and diarrhoea on the coach in the middle of the night. That journey will not be forgotten in a hurry... Would I go there again? May 2019 a new hotel manager takes over so if the hotel is properly refurbished and new staff employed and trained then yes, why not? Andorra is a lovely country; it was just the diabolical food at the Antic that wrecked it for us.

Bad night's sleep

I am ancient and I have a bad back and the beds were not good for me. Plus the hotel is in a very quiet area but we were unlucky to have party animals in the room next to ours. I had to threaten them with murder at 3am, after which things quietened down. Breakfast was good but we found a hair in one of the buffet dishes. This hotel didn't do it for me.

Great Value Hotel

Reviewed By frankaB6530PF

Came across this while looking for ski accomodation for Grand Valraria in Andorra. Prices for any accom on or near to the slopes this year have gone through the roof. As I was driving there anyway I looked a little away from the slopes. This location is about a 2-3 minute drive to the main access lift to Pal/Arinsal, or 12-15 minutes to Encamp the nearest Grand Valarira access point. The hotel also ofeers free parking which is a bonus. Room was basic but bed was comfy. Bathroom with bath & shower. Lacked some storage space but we coped. Booked a B& B deal for 6 nights mid Feb only 360 euro for 2! From the third night on they did open the hotel dining area for a buffet dinner. As so often with buffets the food wasn;t really piping hot but was OK. The salad was excellent as was the desert options and all for 12 euro!!! Bargain. We only expected a contenental breakfast but from the 2nd day they did but out 'hot' well again not too hot options. Eggs and bacon or sausage. All in all would eromend this if you have your own transport.
