The hotel occupies part of a majestic palace-castle that dates back to the 15th Century and has been declared a National Monument. The communal areas and some of the bedrooms are within the palace-castle itself, and the remaining rooms are housed in an annex building.
A welcoming, clean comfortable hotel
Reviewed By 794frankaA good quality hotel, but my advice is to book early and become an Amigo. It is clean, comfortable and well run. The only downside is that public parking has to be used and this is some distance away. We knew this when we booked however.

Reviewed By kfblake94Beautiful hotel, within a 5 minute walk of the pedestrian area of Olite. Wonderful family couple running the hotel. Our room was immaculately clean with a balcony. It was spacious and had access to a balcony. There is free parking on the street directly in front of the hotel. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with the larger sink I've ever seen and a very efficient shower. The bed was very comfortable and then was no noise at all. Breakfast consisted of freshly squeezed orange juice, natural yogurt, assorted cheese and meat, fresh cake, fresh fruit and freshly made coffee with warm milk. Just one of the very best hotels we have ever stayed in. Next time we are this way, it's a definite rebook!!

Reviewed By johnhouston2Hostel Rural Villa Vieja is situated in a quaint old, narrow street in the old part of the walled village. As you will have gathered from previous reviews, you do not drive to the hotel, but park just outside the walls in one of the well-signposted car parks. Although the hotel is in an old building, it is very modern, and has a lift to aid trekking suitcases to the upper floors. Check in was efficient and very friendly. Our room (303) was a superior double and had a nice view of the castle. It was very nicely decorated and furnished and was very comfortable. The en-suite was similarly well appointed and had a jacuzzi style bath. Breakfast was a simple affair that reflects the modest price of 5 Euros, and we had orange juice, coffee, and a piece of nice toast with cottage cheese and ham. There are variations on the theme if, for example, you prefer jam. The bottom line is that this is a very nice hotel that exudes real quality and class. It is in a lovely, quiet street in the old town and represents very good value. We would certainly stay here again.

A really comfortable night
Reviewed By Thistle64We stayed just one night on a visit to Olite and were very impressed with the large room, comfy bed and the really good sound-proofing. The shower was great and the towel rail really hot! Pleasant welcome and a nice breakfast.

Reviewed By Steve SWe really liked this hotel and wanted to stay two more nights. Unfortunately our stay coincided with the Pamplona Bull Run, so all rooms were booked. The receptionist very kindly phoned around four other local hotels to try and get us booked in. We would like to make a special mention of the two receptionists, who were both absolutely delightful. Sorry, we didn't get your names, but you know who you are!! Muchas Gracias, Senoras xx, your cheerfulness, assistance and patience,despite our inability to speak anything but the most basic Spanish. The only thing that stopped a five-star rating is the dubious wifi connection. BTW, you can't park in the old town unless you're a resident, but there is free parking all around the outside of the town. We left our car there for three days and it felt completely secure.

Convenient, inexpensive

Location - In the main square, 150 meters from the main attraction, the Royal Palace of Olite. Restaurant - one of the main venues in this small town. Average to good food. Parking - you will find free parking on the main road, 100 meters away. Bathroom - much better condition than the room itself, good size. Good Wi-Fi throughout the building CONS: The reception is not attended after 8:30. No elevator, small building. Very small rooms, most rooms do not face the main square as pictures show. Tiny TV, awkward located on the side wall, see pictures.No room for a fridge. Ok for breakfast but slow service at the restaurant during dinner. Restaurant opens for dinner at 8:30 PM. Me and my friends eventually moved to the restaurant across the plaza for diner, faster and friendlier service,better food, more variety. It is a decent place though, good value for the money though if you are only passing by but not good for a long stay.
