Reviewed By Doc CStayed at the Hilton Oakbrook Memorial Day 22. Housekeeping only cleaned every three days. Had to beg for coffee pods for the room (and clean towels). Bland breakfast was very overpriced. McDonalds eggs are better! Pool was ok. Air conditioning was finally fixed.

Sad decline
Reviewed By georgehM2295XAHilton has been my go to brand for years. Usually good service, good value and good amenities. Oakbrook Terrace Hilton Garden Inn is the latest in the last three stays with Hilton that fell well short of even modest expectations. When I called to the front desk for assistance with basic amenities that weren't stocked(@ 5 a.m.) I was told ironically by a guy named Hilton that there was no way the Hotel could bring me the amenities and the only remedy was I had to go to the front desk and pick them up myself. No effort was made in any way to help. When I went to the front desk there were plenty of Hilton employees milling about the lobby. I was told that the hotel didn't even have staff to address emergency maintenance issues before 6 a.m. Disappointment is not a strong enough word for the decline in service at Hilton. Hilton is off my list of go to brands.

Smelled like skunk when we walked in - floors dirty- front desk RUDE- restaurant horrible- cheated us on our bill then manager tried to worm his way out of- Had a bunch of sport bikes I. The parking lot and we were told we could not park there after we left sat to go shopping! My 78 yr old mom and I had to walk across the 4 lane interstate! When we got to lot there was pot smoking in and out of the hotel beer cans and Bottles everywhere-when I went to the desk the red head lady said it’s a rally what do you want me to do? Really I want to be able to park in the lot! And not a mile away across 8 lanes of traffic! Lamp shades dirty and torn - bathroom not clean - pictures are water damaged- didn’t give us clean towels or more coffee Manager didn’t care that they were in the hallways smoking pot There are 4 hotels 3 blks away clean and safe! We moved- and ate the bill

The hotel has a lounge featuting a bar open some weekday evenings - come join us and mingle with other guests.

Located close next door to Joint Commission and close to Pinstripes Bowling, Giordano's, CoMed, Inland, Walmart, Oakbrook Center Shopping Mall, Loyola Medical and the VA Hospital. This all-suite hotel has everything you need including full kitchens. You can stay on top of your emails with our complimentary Wi-Fi access available throughout the hotel, and enjoy our complimentary breakfast every morning. After a long day, return to the hotel and relax in our comfortable suites that are a home away from home.
Quite possibly the worst hotel stay that I have ever experienced
Reviewed By Kevin BI'll be happy to speak with IHG corporate regarding my stay, but this hotel and management team need to be retrained or removed. They have a very poor concept of the reservation system and how to manage the room stays for each guest. Extensive effort was made on my part to make sure that my family of six had an appropriate set of rooms reserved for a lengthy hotel stay during a home construction project. The manager failed to manage their inventory of rooms leading up to my stay and could not honor the request of conjoining rooms, much less rooms next door to each other or even a larger suite, at the time of check-in. What further aggravated the situation is their inability to recognize their mistake and appease the guest for their failure. No apology was given until I was forced to come back to the front desk after rooms were assigned & room locations discovered and even then, it was a heartless canned response of “we cannot control the extended stays of current guests”. Time should have been spent in advance of my check-in and then a prepared contrite response with an admission of reservation failure should have been provided. Even then a simple gesture with an allowance of reward points and/or complimentary bottle of water would have helped to ease the mistake. The hotel is filled with shortcomings and deficiencies that could be resolved with a better management team. I will save my description on these issues for corporate but here is a list - unsecure building with broken side door locks, inability to maintain a safe & private environment for paying guests, inability to control unruly guests & parties, internet service that is paltry or out altogether for prolonged periods during the workday, slow & inadequate elevator service, deteriorated parking lot with severe insufficient space for guest vehicles, poor plumbing with constantly clogged toilets, rooms with broken or limited light fixtures, deficient kitchen items for a ‘suite-style’ hotel, and substandard garbage removal with unsanitary hallway pileups. I do want to recognize the hourly staff that handles the serving of breakfast and social hour as well as the housekeeping staff for their pleasant smiles and gestures during my time. They were the positive light shining from this poor hotel experience. And that light shines even brighter when considering the inadequacy of its management team.

A great updated hotel
Reviewed By chinderliter72I've been searching for a hotel to stay in this area that wasn't $300 a night or that didn't need major updating..this hotel is it! You feel very safe as it's in a corporate area. The hotel is actually quite large. Check-in was a breeze. We actually went down to the lobby to play games and enjoyed all of the comfortable seating. The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Parking was very convenient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
