Iconic roadside motel with all modern amenities

Reviewed By DrDestination

Just a beautiful little property with a handful of updated rooms that we thoroughly enjoyed during a weekend stay in the first part of June. The freshly paved parking lot shows the commitment of the owners to a full update of this piece of Americana. Our room was a king with plenty of room. The bathroom was very clean with a tub and shower. The grounds were immaculate and the owners and staff were very pleasant and accommodating. A wonderful old-school diner is right next door (don't miss it!) and there is a nice view of the hills of the Deleware Valley right out your front door. Be sure and take the scenic Valley Drive which is just minutes from this great property! Can't wait to go back next year!

Myer Country Motel

Welcome to the Myer Country Motel where for over 75 years our standards of innkeeping excellence have been our trademark. Nestled among the Pocono Mountains of North Eastern Pennsylvania, the cottages sit on four acres with blue spruce and white pine trees lining the courtyard. The Myer Country Motel was established in 1945 by Ralph and Matilda Myer. Ralph remarried in 1952 to Audubon Winfield and they together continued to run the motel well into their 80's until their daughter, Audubon Cox, took over in 1975. She brought her energy and knack for decorating to the motel to give it a country home feel. Many people comment that this is their "home away from home". In June 1995 the third generation took over to continue the family business. Today you'll find the same warm, country friendliness that has set us apart for over 75 years. We hope you will visit us soon!

Great stay.

We stayed here in October 2021 (just now reviewing). It was individual and duplex cottages with porches. Our room had two beds and the softest sheets I've ever slept on. The desk clerk said they came from JC Penney and I would love to have a set at home. The room wasn't anything fancy but was roomy, clean, and quiet. A great location near downtown and area waterfalls. I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful getaway stay

Distinguished yet not ostentatious historical hotel. Breakfast is delicious home made fluffy seasoned scrambled eggs, tasty home fries bacon cooked to perfection, (hard to come by). croissants and pastries, yogurt with granola, fresh juice, coffee and assorted teas in a beautiful setting with elegant music. Dinner at Bar Louis (downstairs in hotel) was a lovely time for a nice date night. Lovely staff polite, pleasant and sincere. Room, whilst a period hotel was classic, casual and comfy beautiful window with an amazing sunrise view to wake up to. Bathroom again period style, most amazing bath in my life, clawfoot tub . Shower takes getting used to but bath......( hand held shower perhaps would be a nice touch ) Feeling of a country retreat while still in an urban yet quaint walkable town. Nice parking area, felt safe and secure. Forewarn no microwave or fridge ( historical ) If anything, would recommend an ice machine. Would all in all say, maybe my new favorite retreat , very happy to have had the experience. Looking forward to many seasonal getaways st this lovey hotel.

Nice late afternoon and night after conference

Reviewed By K6292HNseanm

It was just a one night stop after a conference, and Medford is conveniently located between where I was and where I was headed. The Inn was charming. Personel was excellent from check-in through dinner and into the next day. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable for one or two, and had all the amenities one would need. The restaurant was particularly good. I sat out on the porch on a delightful night and had a wonderful meal of scallops. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. I was very glad to have stopped in and may well return again.

FILTHY!

Reviewed By maryteresap2021

I would give this hotel zero stars if I could. I have never stayed in such a awful place. It was filthy. The walls in the bathroom had stuff all over them.I hate to think what the stains were. The toilet seat was nasty. And I don't think anyone has dusted in there since the place was built. The room had an awful aroma that even opening the windows did not help. We unfortunately had a two night booking and there was never any maid service. When we got back to the hotel for the second night the room was never touched. The bed was unmade. There were no fresh towels, no replacement of plastic cups. There was no coffee maker. It was jus disgusting. When we left I mentioned my displeasure to the woman at the desk and she didn't say anything. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone

Redone. Room was just fine. Big negative was that people sit outside and smoke in front of your room. That is ok if one smokes but smoke comes in thru the window from everyone smoking outside. Our room was ok but stank of smoke by morning
