We stayed one night. The hotel is situated on the hill and not on the village so it is very quiet. The room is spacious and very clean. There is a heated swimming pool And playgroud for kids.the loby is small. The staff is kind. They brought us cherries at night. On each floor there is coffee machine . The room is aquiped with fridge and water heater. The hotel is very clean

Narkis is a pleasant, low-key hotel on Majdal Shams' main drag, near all the bars and at the best spot to depart for the Mt Hermon. The rooms are spacious and clean with jacuzzis in each room and wifi throughout. Its a simple place, but the service is standout-- kind employees who go out of their way to help.

We spent two nights at this remote, quiet, serene and comfortable hotel suite. I gave this site a 4 out of 5 for reasons I will explain later. Overall, it was excellent. If I could, I would give it a 4.75. First off let me just say that the owner, "Salach" is indeed, as has been written about him, was a very gracious, warm and helpful proprietor. He made us feel very welcome and was very helpful. The excellent aspects were: Location, views, hospitality, chalet design, aesthetics, balcony, use of wood in construction, large bathroom and very large, rustic shower, picnic grounds and facilities (including a full kitchen in the main office) replete with a full size refrigerator and freezer, gas jets, microwave oven and utensils), attractive and rustic dining area, ample breakfast, jacuzzi and very attractive pool. The problematic aspects were: Cost, cold (heated) pool, wear and tear, (the place is upkeep challenged but not too seriously), bathroom window unable to open for ventilation, central heating turned off which meant nothing dried, not towels, not robes, not swim suites. The air conditioner heat worked but the wall heating was shut off. Now, please note that in my list of positives and negatives THE GOOD OUTWEIGHS THE BAD. This place is special but especially for a local (Israeli) tourist it is very expensive. Once again, you have to ask yourself did I get value for money? The general answer is "almost". This may seem like nitpicking but we asked Salach repeatedly to turn the pool temperature up but he refused and it was obvious he did not want the additional electricity cost to impinge on his profit, I get it but even though there were no other customers it seems seems that at ~252 Euro per night(!) (1,000 NIS) for a two night (2,000NIS) stay he could have turned the pool heat up. Due to this nobody used his gorgeous pool. We tried swimming but we ran back to the excellent jacuzzi to warm up. Perhaps Salach uses all of his facilities once the Hermon mountain is snow capped and the place is fully booked. Perhaps once temperatures dip down to less than 7 degrees he activates the central heating and pool heater. I do not know but all in all this place was excellent despite these minor critiques. The breakfast dining area is gorgeous and there is a large outdoor balcony but during our stay it was a bit cold to go out there. The food was very good and tasty with a Druze flair to it. The service was excellent too. To sum up. I would go there again and enjoy meeting Salach for another weekend, maybe once i snows in the Golan. Note: The pathway leading up to the place is steep. During the winter, a jeep or 4-wheel drive vehicle might be recommended. If the price was ~70 Euros less (250NIS), it would have made my stay a 5 star, 100% rating. I do not say this because I am cheap, I say this because the cost per night is excessive in my opinion. Then again, most hotels or "Tzimmerim" are overpriced.

The hotel has great location, stuff which is trying to be nice, pool and dry sauna. however it is an not maintained properly, dirty, old without any vibe, the service is very poor, carpets are ripped, doors has no locks, not clean, broken chairs, lamps, no coffee, water, and it’s not really family friendly. no chilling area, and it seems no one trying to do anything. We were very disappointed and we would never come back, and we love and support Ramat Hagolan and that area, a lot. I feel bad adding additional pictures.
