Reviewed By Chris LJust back from a week half board at the Porto Galini Spa and resort and wishing we were still there. We wanted a relaxing stay and that is exactly what we were given from start to finish. Greeted with cool towels to wash away the grime from travelling and then taken by 'golf Kart' to, our rooms with an explanation of where things were en route the staff here are of the highest caliber, friendly and helpful and always smiling. Our room was a basic one but to be honest it was larger and of a higher quality than most of the rooms where we have stayed in other hotels, a small terrace with table and chairs and a drying rack to the side of the entrance and all windows have shutters that can be closed at night to block any light. Entering there was a nice seating area with a TV and clothes storage and off of that through another small 'hallway' there was more storage with cupboards and wardrobes. Through this was a large bathroom with plenty of room, a walk in shower and a large sink and mirror. The bedroom was large and had a very comfortable bed with side tables and lights and another TV. We loved our room and could not fault it at all. The Asterias restaurant was large dining area which offered a huge range of food covering all food types and easily catering for Vegans/Vegetarians and of course being Greece meat eaters. It was spacious well lit and had great views out over the sea. Breakfast selection was vast with freshly squeezed orange juice a hot favourite for many as a beverage. You could easily have an excellent 3 -5 course meal here and each night was a different theme, Greek, International, Fish etc. That said there was plenty of variety again so they catered for all types of diets. The Dining Staff were diligent and attentive also very friendly and helpful. Meal times were spread over a long period so there was never a rush to eat and the plates of food were continuously refreshed (and hot where necessary)! Oh and there is the Segreto A La Carte Italian restaurant, not cheap but if you have the budget treat yourself to an amazing experience with food of a very high standard and 'special' desserts, we will leave that for you to discover as a surprise! The pool areas were very clean, spacious and well laid out with lots of seating. The hotel has it's own private beach with plenty of sunbeds all of which have there own shade. There was a life guard both in the pool areas and on the beach which is more of a small smooth gravel beach not sand and we would advise suitable swim footwear to both protect from the pebbles and the hot stones! One last great thing George and Mario are your waiters for the pool and beach area and you can either use an App or press a call buzzer to alert them or just go old fashioned and chat to them, they did an amazing job of keeping food and drinks flowing to all the guests all of the time. Nic the beach lifeguard is there to help also with the water sports equipment which although limited is free and fun, Canoes and Paddle boards, he is there all day apart from a short lunch break and was always happy, smiling, helpful and friendly. So are there any downsides to this little slice of Paradise? Yes, it is on a hillside and so from top to bottom is for anyone with mobility issues a problem, that said the hotel I'm sure could and did use the Golf Kart to ferry people up and down as there is a 'roadway' and some sloping paths to help, but beware there are still many steps to negotiate! A taxi to Nidri just 4 Kms down the road was 8 Euros and as there is no footpath this is by far the safest was to travel out and about. If you are used to driving abroad then hire a car, we do and Lefkada is a small island with plenty of places to visit. We also hired a boat from Nidri for the day at 60 euros plus used fuel. Transfer to the hotel from Prevesa Airport is around 40-60 mins.

Reviewed By David PI have travelled a lot but I have to say the Ionian star hotel is FANTASTIC. The owners are so welcoming and helped me with lots of tips of the local area. The room was very comfortable, large and looked onto the sea and was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was yummy and lots of choice I have visited over 40 hotels in Greece and this was by far the stand out.

There was a lovely pool. Nadia and her family were so welcoming and could not do enough for you. They were all so friendly. There were restaurants nearby. The local bus service was good for getting around. Lefkas is a beautiful island

Thealos Village Resort Lefkada: Our luxury apart-hotel and villas resort is open from April 11th with low prices for April and May offers independent stylish villas with private pools and apartments/suites. All of them have an amazing sea view, due to the amphitheatrical distribution of the resort, situated on a green and quiet hillside, overlooking the Ionian Sea and the surrounding nature. Breakfast is included in the price and offers local, traditional products. There are 7 villas with 2, 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms with sea view, private garden and swimming pool. There are also 12 one-bedroom apartments, studios and honeymoon bungalows. The suites share 2 terraced swimming pools and another one for children. We know how important is a proper night sleep, so special attention has been given to the quality of sleep. The nearest beach is only 200 m down the road and offers entertaining water-sports. The closest restaurant is only 150 m away. There are more organized beaches around, but the best way to enjoy Lefkada is to have a car and drive around. Updated COVID-19 Protocols are in place for your safety.
Fantastic villa with fabulous views
Reviewed By AliLou82Booked a two bedroom villa for 11 nights. The location is fantastic with amazing views. Up a very steep road so a car would ideally be needed for a stay here. I couldn’t really fault the villa. It had everything we needed and the cleaners visited every day to ask us if we needed anything. Great pool and great views. Kids spent most of the time in the pool. Shutters on the windows added bonus to keep bedrooms dark (and kids sleeping longer ;-) Spiros is a very present and very hands on owner. He bent over backwards to make our stay fantastic. We had a leak under the sink and I text him and he appeared at our front door within 4 mins to fix it. Nothing is too much for the staff at Thealos. Despite this being a complex of villas and apartments we never felt crowded and the place was very quiet, Breakfast is lovely. My 7 year old said it was the best thing about his stay! Lots of selection and great coffee. There are some lovely restaurants near by and Lefkada town is only 10 minutes away with some large supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Would defo stay here again if visiting Lefkada in the future

Hotel right on beach. My only concern about it all fantastic selection of food but it was cold in the main area which wasn't very nice but a very big selection. All in all very nice.

We were welcomed by Jorgos, who not only gave us great tips on where to eat and which beaches to visit, he made us feel instantly welcome. The decor is modern and inviting, and the rooms are a good size. Can’t comment on breakfast, because we ate out every morning-there were great cafés and bakeries just around the corner. The location is ideal: just off the main pedestrian street with its restaurants and shops, but on a quiet side street, so no noise. Great stay, great staff, great, clean and recently renovated hotel. Thank you!

Covid safety was never an issue as cleanliness was priority 24/7. The staff accommodates to your every need and are very friendly. The room was very clean and the bathroom nice and confortable. New hotel with modern terrace. I enjoyed my holidays here because the street was quiet although it was central. Nice shops, restaurants and cafés allaround this street. As I wanted to leave...I mentioned that I would like to rent a car and they organized a ride for me to Lefkada Town in a few minutes and an apartment downtown too. Thank you for the great service!

Reviewed By ria-leanneHaving just returned from our stay at the athos hotel, the hotel its self is very dated and really needs a refurbishment, beds are awful and maybe a new air conditioning upgrade, the pool nice and clean, breakfast is OK, the view from our balcony was amazing, the family that own this was very helpful, but the hotel itself really does need a building update in alot of areas
