Reviewed By Nina FWe spent a week of our vacation at Villa Araca. It was a rainy week, but we enjoyed every moment of it. Giuliano and Nilzete - the couple in charge of the hotel, made us feel at home, were extremely helpful and directed us to all sites worthwhile visiting. The highlight of our month in Brazil was a self service breakfast that included freshly squeezed juices, local and national specialties, home made pao de quiejo and delicious cakes. Patricia was in charge of the kitchen and she definitely knows her job. The rooms and the pool area were clean and well maintained. The beach is close by...and also the presence ob Uber makes life much easier.

Secret oasis by Salvador airport
Reviewed By Corinne WThis place is a secret oasis less than 10 min from Salvador airport and we can highly recommend this place. The gates open from the busy street and you enter a tranquil garden with rooms around the sides, each with their own hammock outside. There is a great pool that the kids enjoyed while we had a drink poolside at the bar. There are great hanging out areas to sit and relax. The restaurant is also decent with pizzas, pasta and hamburgers...simple but tasty and it was nice to just relax before our very early flight. Don't forget to tell reception if you need to leave early. We booked a shuttle since it was super early but it ended up being a taxi which wasn't ordered until we went to reception...better to order an Uber in your own. Rooms are clean and have a mini fridge if you need it. Highly recommended!!!

As it is just 10 min from the airport, the planes departing can be annoying, but I didnt have major problem to sleep at night, and was out most of the day, so no big problems about it.

Not so nice
Reviewed By cmb1232014I chose this hotel because I had stayed in Intercity Curitiba days before and the experience had been perfect. But unfortunately this one was quite different. The check in was not nice. The girls who were at the reception specially one of them were kind of rude. They didn't know how to help us with some questions about the city and didn't even bother to ask someone else. The bathroom and the room didn't smell well. I was disappointed.

A very convenient option halfway between Salvador and the north coast
Reviewed By DanielBrasiliaWe were in Salvador a bit on business, a bit for pleasure and we needed to drive into the city a few times, but also had time to go to the northern beaches. This hotel is perfectly located for that - though, one does require access to a car (we had a rental) - just off the major road that leads south towards the airport and Salvador itself and north to places like Arembepe, Guarajuba, Praia do Forte etc.. We stayed on the 10th floor with the window towards the ocean side and acoustics were no problem - quiet sleep for us. The team that works on property is overall very friendly - not sure how much English they speak, but I'm pretty sure they manage. The rooms are functional - nice shower, large safe (which was very useful), easy to operate A/C. Breakfast was plenty and had good local options - I particularly like a local delicacy called "bolinho de estudante" - fried sweet tapioca-based. There is this tall young lady that works there in the mornings who was particularly hospitable. However, there is room for improvement, of course: for one, there aren't enough power outlets in the restaurant, so possibly only one or two people can plug their computers in the wall for an extended breakfast stay doing nomad work or just checking their social media on the internet. Also, the lobby doesn't really have a cool corner - no A/C or just too weak an A/C. Doesn't make for a pleasant working or waiting area in such a hot place as Bahia. The service team was also a bit overtaxed - fortunately, the hotel was full (many travelers who have business activities in Lauro de Freitas, Salvador and Camaçari) and once we asked for a tray to be removed from our room (we actually left in the hallway) at 10 pm and it was still there at 6 am. We also asked for an extra small towel one evening and it was never delivered. Last but not least, we recommend the hotel consider changing their bed clothes in their next investment. Though clean, they looked a bit worn and definitely not as white as when they were bought. I met the GM, David Mascarenhas, and he's a truly hospitable young man whom I'm sure will continue working hard to make this property a continuous winner!

Room was nice and very clean. Breakfast was perfect with several options including natural orange juice, breads, scramble eggs and much more. The owner is great. Recommend it!

Reviewed By Raquel SThe room is small but enough to stay to rest. The breakfast was nice and the hotel common areas were so beautiful. The attendants also very simpathic. The only issue we had is about payment where they did a reserve in our credit card before to pay the real price, and this reserve is still showing in our credit card as a bill to be paid.

Small lobby No elevators, using stairs is mandatory Pleasant staff Small, complimentary breakfast Air conditioning in the window however it could not keep up with the heat in Salvador. It is also quite noisy which might bother some customers Shower is an electric head unit and the switch is outside the bathroom Bedding was clean and moderate quality There was no noise from outside.
