The best available hotels & places to stay near Jasper

August 5, 2022 Giuseppe Pratt

Escape the urban bustle and make Jasper your home base for exploring Canada's extraordinary wilderness. As a mountain town, it's low-key and unpretentious with good food and drink; as a destination, it's an outdoor sports lover's playground, with hiking and golfing in summer and skiing and dog sledding in winter. If it's chilly, heat up at Miette Hot Springs in the National Park.

Clean and nice view

This inn is situated in a good location, close to town. It also has a nice view facing grandeur mountain. People at the dining hall are friendly and accommodating. It's just kind of pricey because we went there during Spring time when everything is all booked up.

Poor facilities

Reviewed By Globetrotter_GMan

I would not call this a “hotel”, the facilities and quality is more that of a motel. Good points first - Our room was spacious, location is fine (about 10-15 minutes to downtown) and convenient parking & wifi. Not so good points - the room gets really hot and uncomfortable as they are not air conditioned. They did provide a rather bulky and dated fan which made more noise than it circulated air. The power of this fan was similar to that of a person blowing air from the mouth. We were told this is the only fan they are able to provide. Of course if you do keep the window open, you will be letting in multiple kinds of mosquitoes, flies and insects which are abundant in Jasper. They also do not provide a shower gel or body wash which is quite common as an amenity even by lower rated hotels. The room was noisy as well and we did not have a comfortable night’s sleep due to these reasons. The prices charged do not reflect the level/quality of their rooms or facilities and certainly not that of a 3 star hotel. I would not want to stay here again.

Decent sleep but poor amenities!

Reviewed By mindylou44

We had a quick friendly check in & the room was clean and rustic. The toiletries were of poor quality & the bathtub has seen better days. We wanted to use the fitness facility but to our dismay learned that they don’t open their gym until 9 am :(. Given Jasper is a community with many outdoor activities, one would think their hotel would’ve been more accommodating to guests who like to be healthy and start their day with a workout.

Older Style Hotel in the Downtown Core Across from the VIA Station

Reviewed By Marguerite S

Part of our Rocky Mountaineer Tour, the last leg on the bus transfers to pick up the Train the following morning. We unfortunately arrived about 1 hour late from our transfer from Lake Louise & we were the last group to be dropped off in town. The good part was the pub - Whistle Stop on the main floor of the hotel. Busy little establishment with many locals in the crowd but great/great wait staff. Friendly , helpful, patent with a great sense of humour. Ask them for their wine list & their answer was red, white & pink! Food was very good after a long day of bus travel & reasonable prices. It is convenient for any travelers to connect with other travel arrangements. Rooms were a little dated but clean & comfortable. Would have loved to been able to walk the Main street when shops were open but perhaps another time. Staff were polite, courteous during check in & helpful the next morning for our luggage transfers. Enjoyed being the downtown core that was quiet for this period of season & also everything being so convenient. Enjoy the town.

Too dirty, poorly maintained motel like hotel. Too expensive

Heaven in Jasper

Reviewed By Mary Ann P

Although it was about 40 minutes outside Jasper, we were absolutely glad we booked it. The place is just beautiful. We had a room right in main building, with a deck and a mountain view. From the moment we arrived, the staff were fabulous. I give them all 5 stars. The quality of the room furnishings were right on point. Mind you have NO TV or phone, but who needed it when you had the "view". The best was the restaurant. Again a 5 star treat. Absolutely delicious. We came down early for our reservation and sat by the fire, a beautiful room, a bar tender was attentive to our requests and when we did sit for dinner the waiter was amazing. All in all this is a place you will never be disappointed with.

We were on a quick tour of the parks from Edmonton thru Jasper/Banff with skiing at Sunshine. Stayed at the hostel for 1 night. The hostel is very modern and comfortable. Reasonable walk to main street and ammenities. Very clean rooms! Friendly staff! Shared bathroom between 2 rooms. Cafe and very large/modern kitchen for self cooking. Elevator for mobile challenged. Pool table and lovely lounge area to hang out. As a hostelling experience goes this was great! Free parking as well and lock up area for equipment although we just transferred to the car overnight.

Lovely view from the front, lucky if you get one of those rooms. Great restaurant and bar next door

Reviewed By alex b

Lovely location with an amazing view from the front of the hotel (and assuming from the rooms on that side), however we had a fairly small room that sadly looked out into a loading yard. This was pretty noisy when there were trucks there, which was not uncommon. Free parking in the municipal lot across the road, though apparently this might be changing. The linked restaurant and bar were both excellent, we had breakfast in the former and dinner/drinks in the latter one evening (daily happy hours are great!)
