Great Hotel
Reviewed By DoffaThe Ibis Styles was a great surprise - I never expected to find such a nice new hotel in the relatively unknown city of Itauna. Fist of all the parking garage within the building with direct access to the room floors is very handy. The check-in was super-friendly and efficient. And my room was cozy and the bed was for Brazilian standard extremely comfy, which guaranteed a restful sleep. Breakfast was also very good. I can fully recommend this hotel for everybody, who is in this area.

Reasonable overnight stay in Itauna at the Grande Hotel
Reviewed By maracoaniWe were heading from Ribeirão Preto, SP to Serra do Cipó, MG and wanted to stop off somewhere leaving about 3 hours to drive the next day. The Grande Hotel Itauna was our choice. Making a prior reservation by phone was easy and the receptionist was courteous and helpful. On reaching the town just on dusk, the hotel could be seen clearly from the highway, which was helpful, and it has a several spacious, safe garages. Checking in was easy if lengthy with much info necessary. The attendent took our luggage from the street to our room once we had chosen one from the few we looked at before deciding. The receptionist was very polite and attentive. This is a large, rambling establishment and has a refurbished air to it, which does not extend to the rooms. We chose room 103, away from the railway line and the few trains but they didn't bother us, quite quaint in fact occasionally hearing the whistles and clickety-clack of the trains on the rails. Very clean spacious room for our two big suitcases, a bit dated but very adequate, a comfortable bed with crisp sheets, a strong shower, towels oldish but very clean. Didn't need the ceiling fan. The small refrigerator was useful. A restful sleep after a long day's drive. Breakfast was included in the R$180 rate and consisted of freshly squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, water melon, papaya, scrambled eggs, French rolls, sliced bread, sweet cakes and buns, cheese puffs, good coffee. All self-served buffet style in a spacious restaurant, plentiful, and we found nothing to complain about. The view to the highway over the garage was not inspiring. Check out was simple, credit card, and back on the road. Some people complain a lot about this place but it's fine if you aren't looking for luxury. In all, a good stay in a once great hotel for a decent price.
